mumbai-ahmedabad route has more passenger traffic then mumbai-pune and mumbai-pune route is difficult to execute.

Japanese are really very serious on South India to be honest. there are a lot of industries around Chennai. Mumbai-Ahmedabad will be a highly succesfull route.
In south , i think it will be Chennai-bangalore. And C-B corridor like Delhi Mumbai corridor are seriously studied by them.
