Why you betrayed your russian brothers thats what you want me to say? The country which saved you all the time if it was not due to them Pakistan would have crushed india long time ago .

Crushed! How?

By surrendering en-mass to India army as a tactical move to bankrupt India ( Since we have feed your useless surrender monkeys ).

Well if taken seriously India can get its hands onto some state of art stuff.
Will be monitoring these development closely.

Your take on this??? :close_tema:
I'm glad to hear this news...I guess they had started to work on this as early as 2005.But India was not prepared to sign technology safeguard agreements which 're an integral part of the military technological cooperation between US and other countries. And also the US was dithery about whether India and the United States 'll be prepared for the level of trust that exists between other countries that jointly develop military technologies like America-Israel,China-Pakistan and ofcourse Russia-India.
I'm waiting to see India turn itself from being an importer to an exporter of arms..This could also transform our defense industrial with freer exchange of technology.
AFAIK Javelin is an offer that US has made only to India to ensure defense industrial cooperation receives the attention it demands.
Also the decision could put the momentum back into some stalled defence deals such as M777 ultra-light howitzers to India by the US.
Taking cue from Russian experience America realises that such military & technological cooperation with India may lead to a stable presence on the Indian arms market.
But...... that also means that the region might experience a lot of turbulence in the future...because arms production is directly proportional to turbulence in the region. Isnt it??
I really hope India- Pakistan- China can get over their issues asap.i dont want a storm brewing here and turn the subcontinent into another "middle east".

Not actually something new, this had been proposed to India a few years back as per senior US officials. The offer was renewed earlier this year after Chuck Hagal (then Defence Secretary of the US) visited India after Modi's govt cam to power.

But, yes, it should be interesting to watch this space. Potentially some interesting developments are on the table.

I completely agree with your point of view. If implemented these deals have their benefits as well as drawbacks too. Thats why Indian establishment has been so skeptical on joint development of these weapon systems.
About the turmoil part, well taking into 3 nuclear powers & their respective conventional warfighting capabilities into account, I can safely say that, Situation can become a whole lot worst then Middle east itself. Thank god, we have some sane leaders who cleverly been ignoring battlecry of common population after each incident. Economic development should always be the first priority.

@Abingdonboy, well for the first time , something close to concrete is coming up about the whole development saga. Maybe it will be another addition to MAKE IN INDIA campaign. I hope these weapons will not come with a few strings attached.
Last but not the least, thanks for your reply mate. I never knew these developments took place even in 2005.

I'm still wondering if India and US 'll be able to pull this off because India doesn't like taking orders while America loves ordering around. :P

Russia is still the first option, only problem is Russia is not the same as USSR after the breakup in producing defence tech.
The things we are looking else where are only in cases where Russia dsnt have what we want,we want the best for our forces, and also lately we have issues with spares and missing the deadlines along with price escalation with Russia.

Rest of your post are rants,so dsnt deserve a reply.
