INDIA is the first country who help SL in war against LTTE, not pakistan or china. pakistan don't even have the guts to send the boots on the ground. LTTE is not indians they are SL minority originated from tamilnadu. calling LTTE as indians is as foolish as calling all muslim countries as saudi arabians. US and other countries fighting in afghan can provide better weapon than india can. and india is providing good training to ANA as their army chief is trained in india and he know indian training is best the afghan army can get.

afghan army is in no short of small arms. what afghan ask is to provide them heavy weapons such as artillery, tanks and fighter aircraft. the reason behind this is the recent indo-US meeting about afghan, as they are not willing to provide fighter jet to afghan and US says that afghan don't have the economy to support the use of fighter jets.

IMO this is a good decision ... there is a lot that can be provided in terms of non-lethal equipment. Non-lethal equipment can include communications gear, radars, vehicles, UAVs etc. Furthermore there is already the training program, which can be expanded.

The Afghans can then use their scarce resources to buy lethal equipment at best possible prices from anywhere in the world.

sorry a correction there india provide 5 mill choppers to NA. (US$70 million in aid including two Mi-17 helicopters, three additional helicopters in 2000 and US$8 million worth of high-altitude equipment in 2001)
