It's this Indian obsession with prestige that I find revolting. True power speaks for itself. Approval seeking is indicative of a low self-esteem.

If you are talking about power projection , then well emerging big countries do that when their economies grow . That has nothing to do with low self esteem . Power projection on the international stage has been seen coming from China much more in the last twenty years from china than from India.
If one is to go by your logic then China has a low self-esteem problem . India on the other hand has been so low key that countries actually have to ask India to look beyond their own region ( Hillary) . It never needed anybody to do that for China .

Please be more clear when you are trying to be condiscending atleast , it may back fire .

I'd certainly agree that countries like Turkey, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Mexico and South Korea have deadly potential. Heck! Turkey and Vietnam could even consider candidature for BRICS in terms of pure growth.

In India, 77% of its total population (836 million) earn 20 Indian rupees or less a day, whereas the international poverty line is 45 Indian rupees a day.

Pakistan is in a temporary state of war because of the WOT, it is a temporary phase, & all nations go through it. Turkey went through it, Britain went through it; but they went past these stages, because they are temporary. Pakistan is one of the most important countries in the world.

This is something we should keep in mind when interacting with Indians here. They are the small percentage of Indians with access to internet (~8%) and English speaking (11.38%). What we don't hear from is the vast population of poor and suffering that the Indians here would rather bury away because it is embarrassing to their idea of Shining India.
