Not Sir not at all it is historical fact and mistake by Pakistan by not launching military campaign in 1962 and paid for this mistake in 1971. Thread is not troll but the posters who offended by the historical facts.
We are in great relations with USA at that time and US did't want Russian involvement in war against Pakistan and China because if Russia launch counter attack on China or Pakistan then US have to interfere which will led to another world war.

India declared war with Pakistan because pakistan's holocaust on bd people and the bd refugee flow to india which then a poor condetion (we saw what happend to eu countries when syria refugee crysis even rich like them couldnt is help less) which even us intentionally failed to acknowledge

Let's face it even Pakistan and China was/is afraid of US. Meanwhile we attacked East Pakistan in 1971 despite US's warning.

With the great support of USSR PARTICULARLY BANGLADESHI PEOPLE. USSR saw the result in 1979.

Well, according to India's own internal army report (Henderson-Brooks report), it was India that started the 1962 war:

It wasn't China, but Nehru who declared 1962 war - Times of India

Maybe they thought America would back them up?

Because during that time, China was enemies with BOTH the superpowers (USA and USSR), having fought the USA directly a few years prior (Korean War), and the USSR a few years later (1969).

I guess it made sense, the USA wanted payback against China for the Korean war. But they learned not to fight against China directly after the Korean war, since even an incredibly weak and starving China pushed them into the longest retreat in the history of the US armed forces. India learned the same thing a few years later.

Even when we are weak, we will put up a serious fight.

were you not the one who said pakistan was willing to join forces with India and attack china during that period.. think ayub had that brainwave.
anyway, its not that pakistan decided not to start war, its that pakistan was pressured probably as the article suggests. Its for same reason India Gandhi spared west pakistan from invasion. lolz

I am sorry but can you share something which suggests that?? We even didn't use Air-force in that war...does that also mean we were keeping it for western border?? Please India was not prepared for war at all and Pakistan was not an equation...geo-politics would never have allowed that...Both USA/USSR were anti-china at that time...it is just because of Nehru over-calculation and cuban crisis which resulted in our thrashing....that's it...

Its by one of the 1962 war veteran, that the centre apprehended a possible Pakistani attack from the west (with a possible Chinese attack from the east, --laughable indeed) during that time. The Pakistani army was rapidly getting modernized during that time. The irony was we were not even sure of Chinese threat/attack but there was an undercurrent to always guard the west more than the east. Something the Chinese knew.

The Pakistani army was rapidly getting modernized during that time. The irony was we were not even sure of Chinese threat/attack but there was an undercurrent to always guard the west more than the east. Something the Chinese knew.

Well please do share...because it was height of stupidity and clearly shows how incompetent we were back then!!...though it depends on what position that war veteran was holding as during war times lots of rumors are taken on at face value as well...
