India ready to negotiate a global no-first-use nuke treaty

Ok the world may call China a liar. But I do not think China cares if world calls them liar. National security is more important then world calling China liar.

Back then when the Russian Czar forced China to give away the "Russian Far East" and "chunks of Manchuria" to Russia and when the Russian Communist overthrew their Russian Czar they decided to return the "Russian Far East and chunks of Manchuria" back to China but China said "No Thanks since I made a promise to give away those lands to Russia I will keep my promised that I have made".

So you can tell from the above example how much China cares about what she said (No first use policy). If China said she will not use nukes first then she will keep her words (no matter what happens).

IMO No and the world would still criticize and sanction China if it uses Nukes, even if it doesnt have NFU.

If China has no first use policy and she is under attack by a strong Power such as the USA then she will use nuke and I doubt the world will sanction China for doing so because she is fighting for her survival.

so how can NFU ensure that a country does not use Nukes first. and if NFU cannot guarantee no first use of Nukes, then what is the benefit of NFU?

The guarantee of NFU policy depends on the country who declares it. Now I am not sure if India will use or not use nukes if she is under attack by China who is militarily far more superior than India.
 
India has reached in a league of +1 MT TN device now. Within Next 10 years It will cross +5 MT device.

India's nuclear design has a maximum yield of 400 Kt. It was tested upto 45 Kt, and the design allows upto 400 Kt, depending on the payload. We have not designed, or tried too design anything more powerful than that. It is a design limitation, we cannot increase yield to 1 Mt just by adding more payload, just like a boeing-747 cannot go mach 2, no matter how powerful the engine. It is more than enough to obliterate any city. By comparison, the yield of the Hiroshima bomb was 16 Kt. Even our test device was thrice as powerful.

We do not have any megaton design, nor do we need one. If Pakistan is the target, I doubt we would use anything over 100 Kt, because the fallout may impact us too, since we lie so close.
 
Mature development! That's the key word. The mechanical and other parts are to be physically tested repeatedly before one can go on to simulation.

1 MT bomb is very much on the card. Our noclear arsenal was to be developed in 3 phases.

It is also been heard that India has developed a laser which is capable of igniting fusion device. That give India a capability to develop TN device of any yield.

Do you know in how much time all other Nuclear power took to reach a stage of TN device after first test of Fission device? I will tell you. Less than 5 years. If you know that than you can easily understand that Making a 1MT TN device is not at all difficult for a country that tested its first Nuclear device way back in 1973.

Whats a Fast Breeder got to do with TN design? Are you trying to pull a fast one ?

And the issue is not of design alone. You can't have a reliable TN without testing.

It is about designing complex Nuclear technology. Whether it is TN device or Fast breeder reactor.

US / Russia went for simulations after they had physically tested hundreds of bombs.

It is ignorants like you who believe that deployment ready reliable weapons can be designed through software simulataions and without actual testing.

Please provide credible sources for these claims. Especially for the claims about Agni-2 carrying 1 Mt, and for that intriguing bit about "a laser which is capable of igniting fusion device".

You could have told this without personal attack on me. Without knowing my knowledge in bomb design, you imagine that you know much more than I could even Imagine. This is a sign of a person with an incomplete knowledge.

I simply asked you a question that we get it right in first go in 1998 than why can't we get it right in 2015 after 15 years ?
