India ready to negotiate a global no-first-use nuke treaty

I thought you have basic nuke tech……:coffee:
Cold test can be done without testing coz its safe and more secure and secrate to check out the nuke technology, working and true potential after mature development.

Mature development! That's the key word. The mechanical and other parts are to be physically tested repeatedly before one can go on to simulation.

well, only two nuclear power has No First Use doctrine..India and China.no other country has this policy at present.Russia dropped SU's NFU policy,so are other countries.but hope the sanity will prevail as chance of a Nuclear war was significantly reduced after Cold War was over.main threat is "Dirty Bomb" and Rogue Sates laying hands on nukes..

if it is the case
The respect for India and China

^^
Where is the evidence? Hard evidence.

Is there hard evidence that u r real?

^^^

Well, I cannot say for sure for the Chinese and the Pakistani since their nuke tests were very limited and rudimentary at time. And no further tests were made because of the world opinions.

But the US and the Russians had many tests. I am certain they have tested their nukes in compact form. So I am confident their nukes will blow.
However I am not certain the multi warhead missiles will work *the key word is certain* because they required miniaturization. But then again with the supercomputer simulations, they (the US and the Russians) are quite confident the multis will work.

The whole nuke scenario is like poke game. No one knows until it blows.

if u r certain does tht provide hard evidence?

Whats the point of all this speculation? The hard facts are -

1. India's nuclear weapon tech is largely untested. Cheerleaders may go on shouting from rooftops, but Computer simulations are not the same as real thing.

2. Computer simulations can help only after the tech is mature and frozen - it is for simulating yields, not for simulating tech. Anyone who says otherwise doesn't know the first thing about nuclear.

3. There are serious doubts about the TN. Whats the point of behaving like an ostrich? and where is the dishonour in a failure? Weapon tests fail all the time.

4. Miniaturized nukes are possible, but totally unreliable without extensive testing.

5. Pak's arsenal is probably more reliable - being a tech transfer from China

If Modi gets to be PM, the single most important thing for him would be to resume bomb and nuke missile testing. But it is doubtful he could do that because business lobbies will be scared of reaction from Western nations.

then u pak's flag

Nuclear-weapon free world after initiating the nuclear tests, and very irresponsible blatant naked threats by its immature politicians stirring a nuclear race in the region, now after realizing that they have actually created problems for themselves by having two nuclear armed rivals in the neighbourhood, they have come out waving white flags........

Okay!! So Pakistan developed its nuclear weapons within a week.

No First Use refers to no first use of Nuclear weapon.
If USA attacks China with conventional weapon then China will not use Nuclear Weapons to respond.

thats ok. But if China uses the Nukes then what?

If China thinks it is going to loose badly it can still use Nukes. So how does NFU stop one from using Nukes first?

India doesn't even have thermonuclear weapons :omghaha:

Trying so hard to be shupa-powah in 2030?

India has reached in a league of +1 MT TN device now. Within Next 10 years It will cross +5 MT device.

Even if China is on the losing end, she will still not use nuke to fight back because if she does use nuke then she will break her own promise and the world will label her a liar.

China's No First Use police is her own rule and not International rule imposed on her.

By the way, even if China has no nukes USA will still not dare to attack China because the Americans will be taking a BIG RISK.
China has ICBMs that can hit USA (of course with the use of conventional warheads).

@Dillinger , what do you have to say about the link in post#6 .

Rediff On The NeT: So, it was an H-Bomb after all

Same old same old, rock data analysis or bad readings. Yes its possible that data garnered was flawed since it was a simultaneous test and decoupling was used. BUT one does not depend on just that when one wants to create a deterrent. The design is there, the physics package works but in that specific test something was indeed miscalculated (material amount, lack of experience of the assembly fellows) which may have caused a fizzle.

As I said, at the moment only a MIRV test or an actual set of detonations at Pokhran can give you an assurance, any of the two will do.

Maybe they didn't have it till 2003, they certainly do have it now. So do we.

Even if India possess nuke, it is the delivery of the nuke that matters.

There are mainly to two to do it; missiles or airdrops.

In order to be delivered by missiles, the nuke has to miniaturized. India has no tech to achieve that.

Airdrops are too risky and slow.

So to say India has no nuke is pretty accurate.

Ok the world may call China a liar. But I do not think China cares if world calls them liar. National security is more important then world calling China liar.

do you think the world would not condemn/sanction china for using Nukes first if it does not have NFU????
IMO No and the world would still criticize and sanction China if it uses Nukes, even if it doesnt have NFU.

so how can NFU ensure that a country does not use Nukes first. and if NFU cannot guarantee no first use of Nukes, then what is the benefit of NFU?

now if this treaty gets operationalized then there will be no nuclear war in the world..not even between india and pakistan.and pakistan's nuclear shield policy would be a waste :p.. ;)..but i'm highly apprehensive such treaty would ever materialize.

Yara, I'm knackered..... just going through some of the posts...... there is this fundo biaaaaach, I need to exterminate today......:smokin:

All work and no play. Who is it, Zarvi again? Link to post please?
