India ready to help build smart cities in China

No, English is NOT the universal language, and India has very small share of IT in countries that do not speak English as its first language. In China, people speak Chinese. Anyone wants to do business with China needs to speak Chinese, or at least hire someone who does. The CEO of majors firms in China are either Chinese or people who speak Chinese, and the workers are mostly Chinese. If Indians want software contracts, then speak Chinese, because you will be competing with locals ones that do.

that is not entirely true...the software firm my friend works in gets lots of contracts from china and most of the time he is in china working on some or other project.

Instead of sizing up China, Pakistan, and also Kashmiri Independents, India should be conducting talks with it's neighbors. Also the massacre of Kashmiris are unacceptable. If India could solve it's problems with Pakistan, then I feel it would be more than halfway succesful dealing with it's issues with Kashmir.

Why are you confusing between a socio-political issue with an economic one.The two issues are completely different and I dont see a point as to why the development has to be stopped and only then we can sort out the political issues?
Clarification?

Translators/Chinese speakers can be hired for people to people contact.. As far as IT is concerned, Chinese language will play no role there as none of the programming languages are built using any spoken language.. So in my opinion things can work out pretty good..

Is that really a serious question?

Just want to know more about India. Because your official language is english.

ROFL what?- Chinese are trading with multiple countries too and per you- they speak Chinese only to their counterparts... come on stop digging that hole deeper. You hate India and Indians and that is blinding you to now make absurd proclamations! Hello! India is already trading with china –how do they accomplish that? Chinese are also heavily increasing trade with India; did you think when their premier came to India with 200 businessmen they came speaking only Chinese?

Laugh all you want. If India is so good at business, why is it running a huge trade deficit even one of the world's cheapest labor and record smashing child labor? Wanna know the bilateral trade deficit India has with China, haha. Chinese learn foreign languages to sell, and English is just one of many. However, if you want us to buy, then learn Chinese. Case closed.

The senior managers of a three-year-old thermal power plant in North India say that the Chinese equipment they installed has been giving them trouble due to low quality. They are not alone. Around the country, power plants have claimed that they bought cheaper Chinese boilers, turbines and generators in preference to Indian equipment only to see them malfunction too quickly.
On the surface, it looks like a demand for better quality. But look closer and it is clear that a quite different battle is brewing. It is one way the local industry is reacting to the Chinese invasion into the country's power equipment sector.

China power gear better than Bhel’s

Sanjay Dutta, TNN Jul 14, 2011, 12.51am IST

NEW DELHI: Amid demand from domestic industry for duty barriers against power equipment imports from China, the Planning Commission has said plants set up with Chinese gear have shown better performance than those using items supplied by state-run Bhel. The panel's report card on the power sector's performance so far in the 2007-12 Plan period and the strategy for 2011-12 also raises concerns over Bhel's management capacity in setting up new plants. It also flags delayed supply of equipment by the company as one of the impediments to increase the pace of generation capacity addition this fiscal."Bhel has added new manufacturing capacity but has poor management capacity in setting up new power plants. There has been serious delay in plants where Bhel has supplied T&G (turbine & generator) or boilers. Performance of new power plants based on Chinese equipment is better," the report card says.

@ Idune

In case you are too blind to notice we are NOT discussing power generators here. If your only aim here to derail the thread, then good luck !
