I think India challenging china militarily is as futile as pakistan doing that with India. We need sincere honest leaders that resolve our issues peacefully for the benefit of one third of the worlds population. War is not an option.

FYI we do have a progressing domestic defense industrial base and the budget is not just for procuring you are very ignorant if you think that the entire military budget is used just for procuring indigenous developments such as

countless indigenous naval ship classes notably the Shivalik stealth frigates the Kolkata and Delhi destroyers and dozens of indigenous patrol ships, fast attack craft, landing ships and amphibious warfare vessels and thats just the tip of the iceberg the Arihant nuclear submarines and the Vikrant class aircraft carriers + there are many more ship classes that were designed and built in India i could name

we have mad progress in the aerospace industry as well building and designing trainers and fighters like AMCA and LCA others like Pinaka BEL weapon locating radar Akash missile and its PESA radar etc
i could name dozens of other indigenous equipment/arms/etc we have made but i think you get my point

your ignorance makes me laugh we don't just by everything only ~80% of our weapons are not indigenous a 16% decrease from 1990 where a majority of arms came from the USSR by the next decade it will decrease as well and so on we have definitely achieved some self reliance a higher one than you guys in the defense sector and we are conducting R&D in several areas that will add to the self reliance of our domestic defense industrial base

in contrast our DDIB went from being a baby to currently being a teenager even America and european nations like France Britain and Russia did not just become self sufficient in a fort night it takes time.
