Rabindranath Tagore and Subhas Chandra Bose, were frequent visitors to the place.

These are the classic coffee joints of India but some of the youngsters might not find it hip or cool

I'd be out of my mind to have a cup of Starbucks coffee for Rs 125! Jeeez!

And in places like Kalahandi, even a square meal a day is a luxury! But who cares? Bring on the Walmarts, Starbucks, Ikeas, Nikes and the rest. If you can't afford it, then go take a bl00dy hike! :coffee:

.
I tried Starbucks a couple of times in Bangkok. Then I tried those roadside coffee stalls. The coffee stalls were better and cheaper :D

Starbucks is more of a niche in third world countries, whereas in rich industrialized nations, it's standard.

Like my dad told me from young money don't grow on trees and no need to waste it just because you have some in your pocket

Been there a few times I was in Kolkata. You can get better coffee elsewhere, but nowhere can you get the same atmosphere... there is something unique in the air to ICH.

remember you middle class are pro-western, just as many of you.

I know an Indian friend bought a huge load of Shampoo from the US, just as gift, told me his relatives gonna like them. It's a stylish fashion way of consuming. to CCD, it's a negative message.

That was a time when people were proud to buy anything foreign(not just western). I think people now are buying things judging by quality.

CCD Rocks...Nothing comes close...

Starbucks my @$$ .... Bl00dy looters...
