such problems have been the norm in many Indian nuclear plants.

Brothers, to be on the serious node,
its genuine concern for pakistan because we live very close to india and nuclear incident can affect us all irrespective of our national identity.
I think its a wakeup call for india to look into the areas of weakness in its programme and strengthen its system of internal control.
Brother Xinix, every system seems falwless unless untill it proves us wrong, and this is what happened in karnatka plant, and the statement of the indian offical clearly mentions the possibility of infiltration or mal-intention of someone from inside.
I want to make a request to the indian govt. not to put it on pakistan like always and try to figure out the enemy which want to capitalize on the enemity between the two countries and put our existance to threat. it might be someone who tried in samjhota express incident or gujrat riots etc.
Thanks for twisting the title of thread. I hope you know the difference between power plant and Nuclear bomb. However I have always supported Pakistan on safety of its nuclear weapons. I thought a think tank member will do better.
Nuclear power plants routinely and accidentally release tritium into the air and water as a gas (HT) or as water (HTO or 3HOH). No economically feasible technology exists to filter tritium from a nuclear power plants gaseous and liquid emissions to the environment. Therefore, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission does not require that it be filtered. Source: ROUTINE RADIOACTIVE RELEASES FROM NUCLEAR REACTORS - IT DOESNT TAKE AN ACCIDENT - NIRS
As it is already found out, it was an act of mischief and those found responsible will be sentences accordingly. There is no need for the involvement of IAEA. Sometimes there are matters that are purely scientific and have nothing to do with politics; such matters must be understood and handled accordingly.
Twisting??!!
i just copy pasted the BBC title! (less the investigation part). Chill, i know it hurts.
Please refer to my post#13. Having said that, I am not totally ruling out the impregnability/safety issue but as the old saying goes "If you hear hoof beats, think horses—not zebras".Thanks for the expert opinion.
But even if it was something deliberate, doesnt it speak high of the indian nuclear impregnability/safety?!

im very happy this happened....
just recently india's mr. singh was stating his concerns about Pakistan's (thus far flawless) nuclear safety record.
hilarious....
The holy Prophet of Islam (SAW) says "Every Muslim who visits a sick person is absorbed in Allah's blessings and during the time he is seated by him he sits in the middle of Divine mercy. If he visits the sick man in the morning, seventy thousand angels pray for him till evening and if he visits him in the evening, seventy thousand angels pray for him till morning."
Behaar al-Anwar, Vol. 18, pp.146
Islam orders that when you visit the sick you should ask about their health and pray for them because it is possible that by this their hearts may be comforted.
The Holy Prophet (SAW) says, "Visit the sick and attend the funerals of the dead so that you may remember the next world. Pray for the sick person and say: "O Allah! Cure him with your cure and treat him with your medicine and keep him safe from your calamity."
When you visit a sick person take with you a present for him, although it may be very small. The holy Prophet (SAW) says, "Whoever will feed a sick person Allah will give him the fruit of Paradise."
Behaar al-Anwar, Vol. 18, pp. 145
You r happy that People were sick?
Really?
How can any one be happy if some people get SICK in pakistan or any part of world?
Regarding Safety... How safe can u be if some one dissolves poison in ur University water cooler ?
No, he is not happy because people got sick but because what happened negates what GOI claims about the safety of her nuclear facilities. At any rate, as I mentioned in my earlier post (#43) of Sodium Azide contamination of coffee maker at Harvard, if some worker goes nuts, no security can stop a catastrophe from happening. This is where the security screening of personnel and personnel counseling come into play, and allow me to say that if that really is the case of a foul play, than the Indian Atomic Energy Commission has to look back into her personnel security screening protocols as well as personnel counseling. Although it is pure speculation but it is possible that some worker (maybe a janitor or maybe a scientist) got pissed off by the harsh and insulting treatment from his superior and went bezerk and contaminated the water cooler with the tritium. Anyway, undesirable they maybe, but unfortunately such things happen and happen in every part of the world. Associating India with such incidents will be a bit of access in my opinion. You r happy that People were sick?
