according to the article, India is now 5th because there is a strike in S.Korea's factories. Once the strike is resolved, the ranking should put India at 6th. Its not a fundamental shift. its only a blip for now.

Why are South Koreans striking? God, I despise the entitlement and indolence that unions promote.

Indian company was very clever at buying jaguar land rover, it was first offered to koç group who said they made a big mistake in not purchasing it. Same as China who bought volvo, a known brand.

They were smart in that they gave Jaguar Land Rover autonomy that Ford didn't. JLR was allowed to make their own decisions and develop their own platforms which is why they are so successful now.

There are 1.2 billion indians most who can afford it will buy cheaply produced indian cars but because of the amount of people the numbers go up

Its like saying 500 million Indians wear underwear as opposed to 60 million brits

In the numbers game india wins even though 500 million represents less than half of indian population and 60 million represents the UKs total population


Vast majority of stats indians gloat over are only due to the amount of population they have
