Yes he is very merciful, in that he picked a weak enemy for us.

While he gave us a strong military relationship with Russia, and strong economic relationships with USA/EU/Japan.

If war comes before we are fully ready (it will take at least a decade more, for us to reach even an acceptable level)... then I'm glad it is with a softy.

Still, it's good that the chances of us having a war with Russia/USA are very low in the foreseeable future.

India doesn't pose an "existential threat" to us.

We still need much more than a decade to develop and modernize. More time is needed.
