Indian smart move to gain Chinese and Turkish vote. Now if only Pakistani diplomats understand this move.

But India himself isnt the member of NSG and they have no say in giving NSG membership to any country. So this well wisher attitude is useless.

That is the point. The main contention was that once India is in NSG it would prevent Pakistan's case.

India is saying that it would not oppose Pakistan's application once it is in NSG.

China can in fact use India's case as an example to push Pakistan's case.

The million dollar question is how Pakistan can go past the opposition from the West.

Russia, China & India would be supporting or not opposing Pakistan's application.

Pkaistans case is already in NSG and it will be taken up by NSG memebers tomorrow.

But it will be a NO for both countries at least for this session.

Pakistan doing the same as well. Pakistan is using China shoulder whereas India is using american and Russian shoulder.

India Pakistan NSG rivalry is a known fact. Don't consider NSG members as idiots.

India does not oppose Pakistans entry into the NSG. Its the other 95% of the NSG members that oppose Pakistans entry. Pakistan must convince 95% of the NSG that it is a viable candidate.

Pakistan was never opposed to India's entry to the NSG. Pakistan just want there to be no discrimination in the process for membership.

As far as I know, this move is for China as we have had an unofficial sort of agreement that China won't block India's bid if India endorse Pak's bid for NSG. Now next hurdle is Turkey. Hopefully we'll find a way there too.

There are multiple arguments that have been put forwarded by China in opposing India's case

1) India being a non-NPT member should not be accorded NSG membership. This was more to counter West's opposition to Pakistan's case and to use India to push Pakistan's case. Now India has argued that by allowing India into NSG, China can in fact use India's case as a precedent for Pakistan's case

2) Once India is NSG it can veto Pakistan's case. To allay those fears, India has given a commitment to China that it would not veto Pakistan's application as and when it is ready

3) Both India & Pakistan should be accorded NSG membership simultaneously. India's position has been that India has started this quest more than a decade ago and has used lot of political capital to obtain agreement from all the other members while Pakistan has just started its quest. Both these application decisions should be delinked and considered on their own merit and support.

Yes of course we believe her. India in fact even supports Pakistan becoming permanent Security Council member. Such well-wishers they are.

By toeing the line of China and Pakistan that the NSG membership should be on Criteria base instead of "Special Exemption" (which USA is contemplating to get over India on his side against China), India Successfully blocking US clever moves of Divide and conquer.

If Criteria base membership rules agreed upon in NSG, the only one which loose heavily forever will one and only the US of A.

I personally think both will not get it. China has made it clear either both or none of them, the latter might be the result.
