What i find is that people making lofty claims, Are often those who have very little knowledge about it.. And they find it difficult to react sensibly when countered with proven facts.. The only option they seem to have is to divert the subject matter and hide behind counter accusations.. Petty

I find the most sensible posters to have constructive and stimulated discussions here are Keralites (Bar perhaps one or two) as far as Indian posters go.. Is that because of your more laid back positive and more educated attitude.. Always been curious about that

To be fair, even @uparyupari didn't say that Bangaloreans are the most perfect citizens. And it is a known fact that people in Bangalore, most of the time, mind their own business and is generally considered one of the most cosmopolitan cities in India. You only need to look at the demography of the city to know how popular it is for almost all communities from across the entire geography of India, and proudly so!

That is NOT to say that there are absolutely no violence of any sort in Bangalore. Heck there is no city in the world without any crime/violence and Bangalore has more than its fair share of violence.

I am not trying to gloss over those incidents Bangaloreans (or Indians in general). But to generalize a humongous population, just based on a few isolated incidents, doesn't do your own reputation a favor.

India is a vast country with a vastly diverse population. It is not even like the people from North and South are fighting a pitched battle like many in the Middle Eastern countries do.

Regionalism, not very dissimilar to Punjabi/non-Punjabi rivalry in your own country, is not limited to any one country. Every country has some sort of regionalism going on.

But as much as you like the North and South Indians to hate each other, you will be disappointed to know that the North-South divide is crumbling fast with more Indians intermingling with one another brought on by industrialization & globalization, facilitated by much easier air/rail travel.
