India Military Must Fill Gaps To Become Top Pacific Power: The Four P’s

Sigh!!!!! Kia baat buri lag gaye ji saheb?

Ok how about this article:

It is just an overview. it is in detail if you want to go and read it in detail. It is the reality buddy that India seem to forget that it is still a Third World country with Third World problems.
Showing- your ignorance again,eh? The "Third world" title has 0 relvance post Cold War and has NOTHING to do with poverty/wealth.

+yes India has poverty but it is doing a hell of a lot to imporve the situation. Pakistan has similar poverty issues but does LESS to improve the poverty figures but spends MORE on defence and yet you are not critical of your country in the slightest. Strange that.

Give it a effing rest, if things remain as they are India should have eradicated poverty within our lifetimes- the same simply can't be said for Pakistan.

Offcourse , in Asia...

Within a decade a top power in the World for sure.

 Ok...

Hope by then , millions upon millions of poor Indians would have food and shelter at their exposure ....

Yep They Will have it . India will be the largest Contributor in Reducing Poverty . It is alleviating people out of poverty in millions .

As long as India is importing, weapons from small arms to high tech jets, engines, tanks and subs, the dream of India becoming a power in the pacific will remain a pipe dream. No country can claim to be a power without having a credible indigenous, military R&D base. India, has a long future ahead, the dream of becoming THE Power will not come true until India is self sufficient, and technologically competitive based on its own indigenous technology.

Even China is still busy with copy pasting, etc..... stop bringing poverty etc into every threads.... No Indian is dreaming to become dominant power Like USA..... We just want strong enough to defend forces like china.... don't show you pathetic ego...

Ya.. and If KSA do the on many times bigger scale then it is a regional power. India never wants to go on all out war. It is our last option. We just want to project ourself in a manner tht our enemy think twice before going for any misadventure.

there are Idiots from both sides... ok ... i am pretty sure... No Indians have bad view against chinese.... ok... actually very less people no about 1962.... that is the reality...

@Abingdonboy My case is that India is A Power with imported weapons but cannot be The power which it hopes to become without being self sufficient. Its not all about sanctions.

With all respect I agree with you.

But I see the glass half full, India is focusing on homemade stuffs as well. Our need is much more than we can produce, as example.

We can make (and making) world class frigates, but we need many frigates which we can't make on own. So we are asking Russia to make some for us.

For each and every product we have ingeniousness development, there is almost one to one mapping. If policymakers show some confidence within few decades India can become "The power "...

Depends on the type of engagement, and India's threat perception. You are talking about two of the most fearsome guerrilla forces in human history. War is fought with resources, the more of them you have of your own the better.

No, I just corrected you claim that in history of warfare, technologically reliant nations have been at a disadvantage. That's simply not true and you can't deny that with different tactics, because tactics is a part of the warfare.
Wrt India your point does not hold it's own anyway, since India is not reliant on a single a provider, for weapons and techs, besides that it doesn't say anything about the fact that a country is a major power. Israel is a major military power, although amost of their arms and techs are imported, just to give you an example. India is already a major political and economical power, not to mention that it is the major military power in the Indian Ocean reagion today and in future, it will expand it's power at least to the South Chinese Sea, as part as our defence policies. The Pacific and Altantic regions however are not our cup of tea, nor do we have interest in beeing the global police force, like the US wants to have us next to them.
Indian areas of interest are mainly related to Indias defence and not to any global aspirations!
