You mean like caste system, religious extremism, superstitions etc? Then people would forever be in poverty. India should make radical changes and at least should bring some uniformity into their culture.
ehm, no. not those old "solutions". something entirely new is needed, i agree.
but building people affordable housing and restaurants of their own,
generally speaking, i think, leads to societies where sub-culturals (cultural groups like muslims / native Indians for instance) that are divided by geography.
that allows for nifty temporary measures like shutting down internet in potential uprising in growth stages, for the national government in charge of that country.
that's not only easier to police, in terms of costs, and lives *not* harmed (too much),
it's also much more pleasant for the populations (sub-cultures) of entire countries and cities.
for what can be done with a country, can be done with a city too.
500 years ago we still had wars between the cities of my own small country The Netherlands.
these days, we even seperate our gay populations into new areas to be lived in primarily by gays, in most of our major cities at least.
OK, that plan hasn't passed the filters of my own government yet, but i submitted it al ready, and i think, since we're building a lot of new and improved housing anyways these days, they'll factor my suggestion into reality within the next 20 years or so..
that way, they get their own bars, and no longer we get fights all the time between hetros and gays,
leading to much less work-pressure on our police forces. plus : a much more pleasant country as a whole
