He says poverty alleviation is as low as it was 20 years ago, another misleading report. It's been rising exponentially, 1/3rd of our middle class admit that they have come out of abject, absolute poverty. If you don't pull along well with them - they can come out and say that India is violating the children something convention which India has signed and therefore sanctions may be imposed on India. They can just turn around and say that India is using its consulates in Afghanistan to spread terror in other countries etc etc etc. They can create a variety of problems which can hurt India's economic growth prospects.

I am not saying that they would do this, but they can if you don't appropriately listen to them.

It is India's magnanimity and hospitality which forces India to be nice to an Out Of India gene-related relation, which happened some 20,000 years ago. After all most of them have out of India genes. And it is just like their home coming.
