India doesn't depend on US for economy, military, national security, nuclear umbrella or energy security.

The reasons India needs the US are Afghanistan, Asia-Pacific security architecture and Technology. Except for the last one , USA needs India as much as India needs USA. India's relation is mainly symbiotic with the USA
