India left "disappointed" as US goes ahead with F-16 sale to Pakistan.

Just LooK deal Kid they Ripped Money out of you 75 Million a Piece For what Old F-16 MLU which you already have that to 8 in numbers.
Deal is Still Far from Finalized going in to *US Congress where Us congressmen Make sure that they Put condition on you.

Then you should have been celebrating rather chest thumbing in all those posts about these only 8 F-16s but it is clearly visible who is at the loss and who gained. Come back when the deal is cancelled. Let the trump be their president I don't care but what really matters, Indian money and efforts all in vain yet and we are still good to go. TC

Or in simple words Pakistanis don't believe in rona like Bharat mata.
.

"don't believe"????
Check that pedestal of your its kind of rotten someone will definitely sink into it one day.

Actually, politicians in pakistan are quite smart, they understood the pattern a long ago, if no one really takes you seriously no use in complaining and bitching about it.

Science Nai aati Na???
I can explain it to you in great details as to who's on fire....but that would be like stooping to your level and banging my head.
That's why Rehne do!!!

8 F-16s...and the celebration. India must mean a lot to your guys. Hehehe

8 F-16s are no cause for celebration. We have dozens of them already. It's the Indian reaction which makes for great amusement. Don't you agree? Come on, it's funny!

US will meet its Frankenstein soon... India just warned them about it. Lol
It's no big deal...we were supposed to react to this news and we did, like we were expected to.
we like to keep our neighbours happy. Lolzz

Now you are just being paranoid. Cheer up. Those are just 8 F-16s. Besides we have a long standing relationship with US. I think we two understand each other. Thanks for your concern though.

to be frank i find it quiet obsessive when india moans when pakistan buys weapons. why? pakistan dont care what you buy. also pakistan and the usa go way back to the 60's india is still a newbie in the usa market with a few p8's and a few others trickling in with them.
India is pushing its luck because it is in a postion to do so and why not? Pakistan has troubled ties with the US and many US lawmakers oppose any sort of dealings with Pakistan- it is a situation rife to exploit.

Pakistan doesn't moan because it is in no postion to do so- India is getting all the latest US equipment paid for in hard cash and enjoys bipartisan support.

If the sale had been blocked it would've been a win but it hasn't- nothing lost.

they are banking on their rants and bribes to change US decision. just goes to show the obsession against Pakistan although we are normally told they dont care about us.
It's not really obsession. It's about serving national interests.

The republicans have always been friendly towards Pakistan. Also where did you get the idea that they will also be in power?

India cannot dictate a sovereign countries it is juts horrible diplomatic move
Dictate? India expressed its concerns as it has every right to do. You guys want to paint it as "crying" but this is simply what an active foreign policy looks like, maybe to you guys this idea is so absent because your foriegn office seems ineffective at everything.

Dont need to disappointed about that .
Use our influence in US Congress and if that fails then kick out the US from next major defense deal for some silly reason .We are good in that .
After all these eight F 16 not gonna change anything in this region.

Pakistan had already bought 500 AIM-120 C5 BVRs + 200 AIM 9M sidewinder air to air missiles from US during Bush era plus old stock of sidewinders, (US sold this saying it was for counter insurgency ops, fact of the matter is India cant control Americans, they do what suits their interests ) Pakistan has more than enough stock of US air to air toys , focus should be on TOT for Chinese & South African air to air missiles being integrated on Thunders !!!

This was my point. One can speculate what happened. Did Pakistan request the missiles and were refused. Did US offer missiles and Pakistan refused, or what you said, Pakistan will just utilize existing stockpiles. It's not like Pakistan uses those missiles much.

India summoned US ambassador on this deal which shows that whole Indian government was trying to block the deal and this is a major diplomatic setback to Indian lobby in US.

Yes, it's a diplomatic setback for India. Not its first. India tried to block the AH-1Z helicopter sale as well and failed there too. Can't blame them for trying, but they too realize US has its own interests to protect.

8 F-16s in the hands of PAF's topguns will surely alter the balance of power in sub-continent and these machines in the hands of CCS Graduates will be a nightmare for our enemies. Griffins, Arrows, Tail Choppers will be smiling after getting this news

How exactly will 8 F-16s change the balance of power? There's a reason why the US only offered 8 F-16s instead of 16, 24, or even 48, even though PAF wants more. PAF air chief said so this much. He said it will take time. These F-16s will be used for precision strike capability and used primarily on the western border, at least initially.

Do you have any idea as why India didn't go for the F-16s.....and NO it wasn't that the F-16 didn't meet IAF specifications.
That is EXACTLY why.

You would have to be ignorant of the MMRCA selection process to say otherwise.

The IAF conducted all technical evaluations based on a 600+ point agenda on all 6 contenders both in India and abroad. They then passed on their findings to the MoD who followed their reccomendations verbatum. Those that failed to meet the technical evaluations went no further, those that did were "downselected"- EFT and Rafale. it was only THEN that the sealed bids were opened, L1 and L2 decided and exclusive talks began with Dassualt for the Rafale. There was no scope for poltical interferance or any considerations other than technical being factored in up to that point and the losers conceed this:

Both companies have previously said they accept the IAF's decision, but requested a debrief to understand why their bids fell short in the technical evaluation. Details of the debriefing have not been disclosed, but neither company stated any complaints about the results of the IAF's evaluation process.

"The decision has been made by the IAF and throughout the competition [Lockheed Martin] has been extremely impressed with the IAF and the professional manner in which the competition was conducted," Lockheed said.

US fighter companies satisfied after MMRCA downselect debrief

what are the specifics of the sale

does it includes more MLU kits or option for 10 more etc.?

~87 million usd per plane is bit too much.
sigh
do you guys ever read?

As it says in the article "The US Government on Friday, said it had approved the sale to Pakistan of eight F-16 fighter jets built by Lockheed Martin Corp, radars and other equipment, in a deal valued at $699 million." So, it is not just the jets.

The sale is worth 699 million USD and includes support, training and spare parts. The approval means that Pakistan is now actually free to actually order the aircraft from Lockheed Martin

The Boeing Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing System (JHMCS) combines a magnetic head tracker with a display projected onto a pilot's visor, giving the pilot a targeting device that can be used to aim sensors and weapons wherever the pilot is looking. It does so by synchronizing aircraft sensors with the user's head movements so they automatically point where the pilot looks and displaying flight information on the inside of the helmet visor so data is always in view.
To aim and fire a missile, pilots point their heads at the targets and press a switch on the flight controls to direct and fire a weapon. To attack a ground target, pilots can acquire the target with a sensor and note its location on the helmet display. Alternatively, pilots can use the helmet display to cue sensors and weapons to a visually detected ground target.
In a dual-seat aircraft, each crewmember can wear a JHMCS helmet and perform independent operations with continuous awareness of where the other crewmember is looking.
The high off-boresight seeker (HOBS) system consists of the JHMCS and the AIM-9X high off-boresight air-to-air missile.

The AN/APG-68 radar is a long range (up to 296 km) pulse-doppler radar designed by Northrop Grumman (previously Westinghouse) to replace AN/APG-66 radar in the F-16 Fighting Falcon. The AN/APG-68(V)9 radar is the latest development. Besides the increase in scan range compared to the previous version, it has a Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) capability.

Advanced Integrated Defensive Electronic Warfare Suite (AIDEWS), a state-of-the-art electronic warfare (EW) suite for self protection and situational awareness. AIDEWS, in use by a growing number of international air forces, ensures electronic warfare capability for deployments around the world. AIDEWS (AN/ALQ-211(V)4), now flying in allied F-16 aircraft, provides an internal, fully integrated radar warning and RF countermeasures capability. The pod-based proven AIDEWS (AN/ALQ-211(V)9) uses Line Replacement Units (LRUs) interchangeable with the AIDEWS internal system. The pod-based system can be added to enhance suite performance or add electronic warfare capability to legacy aircraft.
