The interest in this is purely due to TPE 331-10 powering this UAV and TPE331 India has been making in HAL (with Honeywell) for last 40 years.

Its for sure that sensor package wont get shared so this one is a stop gap arrangement and basically used to take out the need for other Maritime surveillance platforms.

This is a stop gap order. The interest is finally with Avengers which we want in much larger order. So what USA-India is doing is first using Guardian ER to get the relationship going and finally moving to next phase avenger when all foundation pacts are concluded and sufficient goodwill is built with the Senate to pass that sales to India.

MII part will depend upon Mr Vivek Lall, General Atomics plan in India. its a difficult choice but with a substantial order there is a possibility of a assembling point. Again the partners and control will create hassles so may be after 3-4 years that may be more concrete.

The present relationship wont lead to that MII angle. And i have said before DM MP 's eyes are set on jet powered drones which he feels can safeguard our security needs for 30 years easily.
