What's new

India is to introduce one of the largest welfare schemes in the world

well food should be available to everybody, it's about time. In pakistan no matter how poor people are, nobody goes hungry

Are you serious ?

Wonder why Pakistan was ranked as the 22nd most hungry country in the world in 2012. India is worse , I know but nobody in Pakistan goes hungry is too far-fetched.

P.S- This scheme is nothing but the last ditch attempt by Congress to gain votes from the poor classes to win the elections which they know they are going to lose.

Their strategy is , distribute all the hard earned money of the middle class and rich class in India amongst the poor , gain the poor people's votes and win the elections. To hell with the middle class, or industry or jobs or things like that.

@iajdani - I heard about BD policies.
It is good to see that your country is doing well and does not have old root problems like we have.
Here in India also has such schemes for widows, handicaped , school, college, farmer etc.
E.g - school education is almost free. They have free mid day meal for school to attract poor people children. So they send their children in hope that he ll get food and education. Now it sound good. Government is giving full money but what politicians and people related in it start eating money. They have downgraded the food quality.
We have monthy scheme payment for senior people.widows,handicaped people. But same problem corruption.
Government pay half or full fee to lower caste students ( because of political interest they are not switching to only poor people.)
we can not give free food. We should give them at very very low cost. This new scheme ll cost more then lacs crore per year. We can invest this money to provide job to these poor people. Government job should be make people independent by providing job not beggar.
Our main problem is corruption and this congress.
About USA etc, well they are developed country and huge economy.
