What's new

India is in love with Pyaare Afzal

I still don't like Pakistani dramas, they are not like what they used to be. These days they are all about a guy and a gal with a lil twist here and there. No action, thrill, mystery....Just pathetic love stories.:hitwall:

I recommend going retro...watch old PTV hits...this is what I am doing currently. One by one I will watch all the oldies as time permits...thinking of starting with Baba Ashfaq Ahmed's epic "Man Chaley Ka Sauda"...was recommended to me with a talqeen of getting the roh of this drama...will try my best.

I have switched loyalties to English shows now. As my handle indicates, i am very fond of supernatural genre and unfortunately you don't find such content on Pakistani programs. However i did watch a horror serial: Woh Dubara, last year on humtv and i found it to be very refreshing & deviating from the usual guy n a gal story, but that was one drama on a different topic after decades. With internet we got such a diversity of choice, that for me, TV is thing of the past.

True, internet TV is the future (i.e. on-demand, on-time), the only problem I see is plethora of choices (not a bad thing) you just need to filter out what you are after vs. what you don't. But you know sometimes I miss those days where we use to wait for the next episode of a hit TV drama for days on end with excitement/suspense of what going to happen next...may be I am a bit old fashioned or so...or little old...:what:

Speaking of old days i remember how people got sad when Nabeel in Dhuaan died and also when every one of them died in the last episode. The excitement part is very accurate..........I am always reminded of this, when i start playing any movie online. Back in the days i used to feel great excitement when we would go to rent a VHS.....Good ol days. Back then, even people were a lot different too, they maintained social contacts, these days even social contacts are confined to internet.
