WASHINGTON: Pentagon says the US welcomes additional support by the Indian government to Afghanistan, noting the country’s contribution to the reconstruction of Afghanistan.

In its latest report “Enhancing Security and Stability in Afghanistan”, Pentagon called India as Afghanistan’s most reliable regional partner and the largest contributor of development assistance in the region.

The report adds that this assistance includes civil development projects such as the Afghanistan-India Friendship Dam and the Afghan parliament building. According to Pentagon, India provides significant training opportunities for Afghan officers and enlisted personnel and has frequently offered to increase its burden sharing for Afghanistan.

Approximately, 130 Afghans travel to India each year to attend various military academy and commissioning programs. India has also donated limited security assistance, most notably four Mi-35 aircraft, the report said, adding that the new South Asia policy highlighted our relationship with India and called on India to provide more assistance to the international efforts in Afghanistan. “The United States welcomes additional Indian economic, medical, and civic support to Afghanistan,” the report concludes.

As i have read, afghans have -ve views towards pakistan. Afghan refugees are held responsible for spreading terror in pakistan as per most of the pakistanis.

This really has nothing to do with religion, it's everything to do with geopolitics.

The whole world is readying to continue to allow Afghanistan to burn for another decade. Pakistan is resolving to shield itself and isolate itself as best it can. The game the US is playing is very damaging to us even if it is never said openly.

They create intolerable conditions for us in Afghanistan hosting Indians, propping up an anti-Pakistan Afghan regime, failing to secure their own territory from the Taliban while inviting us to do more (somehow). They also invite us to create more problems for ourselves while not inspiring any confidence in us of their capability or intentions.

Hmmm, let me see.....Taliban carries out humanitarian missions like suicide bombings in crowded market place, storming a hospital to kill sick patients, produce and engage in opium trade (remember these are Talibs of holy texts), destroying millennia old(older than their own religion) heritage of Humans, shooting women in the head for going to school, publicly shooting women in the head in midst of football field etc.

You say these peoples are the real representatives of Afghans and a democratically elected(Afghans casted votes in elections) government is a puppet? I don't think this is a effect if smoking drugs, its way more fundamental, down to psychological levels.

my post was sarcastic,nothing to do with religion. Rest of your post is very accurate but there is a very little pakistan can do wrt afghanistan.

US killed more Afghans than the Taliban. They "publicly" drop bombs on civilians' heads and burn them alive. They support drug peddlers, pedophiles and war lords. Democracy under occupation is suspect, without American patronage the Kabul Gov. will fall. Taliban represent Afghans more than the occupiers because of the simple fact that they are Afghans.

Our government is more pro-Pakistan than anything. Not the president, but the government as a whole is run by pro-Pakistani ethnic minorities that are supported by Pakistan to undermine the stability of Afghanistan.
