India is doing it because she is getting cheap oil on longer credit terms, plus they will pay you considerable amount in Rs. which will force you buy their products. It's nothing to do with showing middle finger.

Then pray tell us in what currency should we pay since Dollar and Euro are off limits to Iran? Turkey is under high pressure to shut the transactions if you read the news which means Lira goes out of the window as an option. We have approached Russia but there are negotiations going on as to which Russian bank would help transact in Rubles.

Till then what international currency do we use? We don't have any reserves of Toman with us. So? Rupee is the only option.

It is business; we are developing economy and we need oil. Our relationship with Israel is strategic and we keep our ties between any 2 countries only. Never has Israel asked us not to buy oil because they perfectly understand the energy needs of our country.

What is between Iran and Israel is their bilateral problem. We share a military strategic partnership with Israel while Iran is our commercial business partner.

Two totally different dimensions and the result:

- Iran is happy and we get the oil.
- Israel is happy and we get hi-tech cooperation.

No two words about it.

I wish that sanctions on Iran must be removed soon, so they don't need to get blackmailed by few countries.

No one is blackmailing Iran. Other than you and unfortunately Afghanistan, Iran has a lot of developing economies around her. We and China need oil badly. Nothing against US or anyone else. This is not intended to harm them at all. It is simply our need and since UN has not imposed any sanctions on Iran, we are not obliged to follow sanctions of any individual country.

Question for you:

- Will US cut of all ties with you and China for us?

- Will US stop importing Venezuelan oil because Chavez doesn't like US and is cooperating with Iranians?

Answer: NO.

Now if US has ties with you or China, it doesn't mean that it is harming us. It means they need something from you in exchange for something. Their call.

Same goes for us.

While we are strategic friends with Israel, Iran is a strategic commercial-economic partner and we cannot throw away our economic and business partners.

If 2 of your friends fight with each other, what do you do?

- Either offer them a mediation solution.

OR

- If that doesn't work, you maintain good relations with both and let them solve the problems between them.

We are doing the second part here and letting Israel and Iran solve their bilateral issues.
