India hits China wall in anti-terror talks

Thank you very much for your concerned, as far as i know no one bomb our capital beijing and finacial centre shanghai yet. we must be doing some thing right.

That says it all. Even US thought they were immune from terrorism until 9/11 happened ! The mouth will come back to bite the same hand that fed it. I hope you get it.

Read my posts. I've stressed inadequacy of evidence when I have to clarify what's stated in the report.

This is why there's a veto.

Stay on the topic. Accusing any government for not being morally clean or pure would be easy and endless.

inadequacy of evidence ? I think you missing the point on purpose now :). Lets try this again:

You have the entire Security Council besides china saying it is plenty evident, you have Pakistan trying the suspects saying inherently yes these guys did it, you have captured terrorist confessing- and yet you would say “inadequacy of evidence ". It's not inadequacy of evidence, its inadequacy of reality based beliefs...

That’s like someone saying we don’t believe ughiars did a terrorist attack within china, why? Because of "inadequacy of evidence". Words offering plausible deniability

India hits China wall in anti-terror talks - Indian Express

India's first conversation in three years with China on counter-terrorism recently failed to make much headway despite New Delhi providing Beijing fresh findings and evidence.
Not only did China bluntly refuse to re-examine its objection in the UN to proscribing the Jaish-e-Mohammed’s Maulana Masood Azhar and two prominent Lashkar-e-Toiba faces, but also firmly rejected looking into details of Chinese arms suppliers provided by Anthony Shimray of the NSCN (IM).

The counter-terrorism dialogue in Beijing this July, the first such talks after 26/11, was an attempt at reviving this old bilateral mechanism after three years. However, sources said, there was no progress on substantive issues.

The US has been unsuccessfully prodding China, a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, to allow the UN to put Azhar along with Lashkar operatives Azam Cheema and Abdul Rehman Makki under the al-Qaeda and Taliban sanctions list. India had hoped for a change in the Chinese attitude if it discussed the matter at a more discreet bilateral setting.

According to reliable sources, while the Indian side presented detailed information on each of the three terror figures, all Pakistan-based, Chinese officials insisted the information was still insufficient.

Interestingly, the Chinese interlocutors conveyed that Beijing was not contesting the terror-related evidence provided by Delhi, but that information connecting the three to al-Qaeda or Taliban was not enough.

The Chinese side argued that this was a technical requirement under the relevant UN resolutions. A frustrated Indian delegation then promised to revert with more information in due course. Since then, instructions have gone out to security agencies to obtain evidence of the kind sought by China.

If this marked a poor beginning to the talks, sources said, the discussion on Northeast insurgent groups and their alleged Chinese links was almost a non-starter. The Indian side passed on information provided by Shimray in his statements before the court that the NSCN (IM) had arranged arms and ammunition worth nearly $2 million from TCL, a subsidiary of Chinese arms company China Xinshidai. However, even names of individuals, the agents in Bangkok and other such details did not seem to impress the Chinese side.

The Chinese interlocutors are believed to have told their Indian counterparts that they could not act on a mere “confessional statement” — regardless of whether it had been admitted in a court of law. Sources added that they latter reverted saying the information could not be corroborated.

The only issue which the Chinese side raised was the “strong” possibility of the Tibetan movement turning violent in the near future and they wanted India to take extra measures for security of Chinese assets. The Indian side gave details of the government going the extra mile to ensure the same.

India gave a detailed briefing on Pakistan’s role in acts of terror on Indian soil. The Chinese side was particularly interested in knowing the evidence gathered in the 26/11 attacks.

Morons still think they are going to win the hearts and minds of the Chinese. You could have all the undeniable proof in the world with CCTV evidence and it still wouldn;t make a damn difference. When will India and Indians realize that China is not interested in helping India? It is in their best interest to keep India unstable thru any method. Wake up!

We are not lecturing you. We are just saying that if you protect terrorists now, you may be the target of same perrorists sooner or later.

I dont get your logic..if we harbor terrorists..at least they should show some gratitudes :D why they want to target us back??? doesnt' make sense to me unless we betray them.

Blacklisting anybody or any organisation does not make much sense. Bin Laden was the most wanted man in the world, but he thrived for so many years in his comfortable surroundings till US could weed him out. Even after blacklisting, if a nation wants to protect such elements, they would go to any lenghts to do so as we have seen before. Instead of wasting time with these kinds of pleas, our security & intelligent agencies should go to any lenghts to protect the security & sovereignty of our country even if it ruffles a few feathers of some other nations.

Yeah right ! Terrorists will show you gratitude. They are very nice people you see. LOL

You may be aware that you have a major unrest going on in Xinjiang. My point is, the people you are protecting now, may some day be recruited to fight the Uighur cause. There is already enough evidence that some of Uighur elements are getting their training in Pakistan ! So you see it is a vicious cycle . They are all part of global Jihad network

If India wanna play such a game (and yes it did and possibly will), don't complain.

Unless India mounts enough courage to declassify truths on the 1962 conflict, dismantle some blinded nationalism and bulge its stubborn and unrealistic claims, thus solving territorial disputes with China (and finally Pakistan), realistically I don't expect to see any remarkable improvement on China-India relationship.

Competition goes and rivalry dies. We won't be able to see the face of fate.

And guys, your Indian positivism and resilience really impress me. Really.
