India hands letter to Pakistan High Commissioner

.
A letter written and handed over by Indian authorities ! how does this can be claimed as a solid proof or even a proof at all?

.
India has provided evidence,

What evidence has India provided to Pakistan regarding the Mumbai attacks?

Flintlock just quoted P Mukherjee on another thread stating that India had not even completed her own investigation yet, and would think about sharing evidence when that happened.

Lets not just conjure up 'facts' from thin air.

Enough evidence given, Islamabad must act: Pranab
Agencies Posted: Dec 21, 2008 at 1424 hrs

Kolkata Taking a tough stance, External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Sunday said that Pakistan had been given enough evidence regarding the Mumbai terror attacks and ‘Islamabad must act’.
"Pakistan has been contradicting its statements. Enough evidence has been given to Pakistan. Pakistan must cooperate and not contradict us. Mere talk is not enough. Pakistan has to act," Mukherjee told a conference at the Bengal Chamber of Commerce in Kolkata.

"Instead of contradiction and denial, they will have to take action," Mukherjee added.

"We can deal only with the government of the day. Therefore, all arguments which are coming from the other side (Pakistan) are not really convincing", Mukherjee said.

The first reaction from Islamabad was that non-state actors were involved in the attacks, he recalled. "Non-state actors do not come from heaven, nor do they operate from another planet", he said.

"But from wherever they are operating, it is the responsibility of the incumbent government to deal with them", he said, adding that "we cannot chase the so-called non-state actors in another country. They will have to take the action".

"I have never used the word Pakistan government but I have deliberately used the word that some elements in Pakistan. Evidence clearly indicate (their involvement)," he the Minister said.

"We have the evidence, including intercepts of the conversation via satellite. Yesterday I described the conversation as a chilling account. The captured living terrorist (Amir Ajmal Kasab) gave the chilling account of what transpired between him and the controller from that side. They were monitoring Indian television. We have this type of information", he said.

Pakistan must pursue these evidence and take action, he said, noting that "words must be followed up by action".

India provided Evidence about terrorist their location, Pakistan should have investigated and shown these terrorists do not belong to it however section of Pakistan media itself opened the can of worms. Nawaz did support it.

Can you find me a direct quote form Mukherjee stating that India has provided this type of evidence to Pakistan?

If what the above article says is true, then it contradicts the article I posted and contradicts the statement from the Pakistani Foreign Office and the Indian envoy:

" ‘The Government of Pakistan has so far not received any information or evidence relating to the Mumbai incident from the Government of India,’ Foreign Office Spokesman Muhammad Sadiq said.

Earlier Acting Indian High Commissioner, Manpreet Vohra, told journalists that ‘There is a lot of evidence with the Pakistani government and other countries on not just the Mumbai incident. Everyone knows and has evidence about the activities of terrorist groups in Pakistan.’ "

Notice that even the Indian HC does not state outright that India has given Pakistan evidence from the Mumbai attacks, choosing instead to give a generic reply of 'there is a lot of evidence with Pakistan and other countries'.

Well the details of specific evidence are not made public but as per Pranab Mukherjee statement they were provided. This report was dated 21st Dec 2008. Pranab statements are normally carried over by High commission So I wonder about the dates if at all there is a lapse then it must be due to technical reasons.

In an prior statement, Mukherjee had clearly said that he was referring to evidence given to Pakistan over the last few years. Here he doesn't make clear what evidence he is talking about, but his statement, "Enough evidence has been given to Pakistan", suggests to me that he is referring to the same old exchanges through 'joint mechanisms, task forces and committees', and not any new evidence related to the Mumbai attacks.

This is validated by the FO spokesman's statement where he specifically refers to evidence related to the Mumbai attacks. Pakistan is not going to outright deny receiving evidence if India had indeed shared evidence. She could deny the evidence was credible, but not outright deny she received it.

Its the same as that 'list of 40' he talked about - that isn't any new list of suspects in the Mumbai attacks, its just the total number of people India has alleged are wanted by her and in Pakistan over the years.

Agno has opened up another scenario for me, and it seems like this is a scenario which may well be true, or actually is true.
The Mumbai attacks are actually being "used" right now to force Pakistan to do something about all these other so called camps that India would love to crack down.
It's their chance to go onto the political world stage and pressurize Pakistan to finally do what India has always wanted, however, I think it's smart and wrong at the same time.
Currently, it has not much effect on the GoP, for them, the Mumbai attacks are the central stage, whereas the Indians are now digging up other allegations.
I'm not quite sure how things will work out, however, seeing that Indian pressure and threats on Pakistan haven't really worked in Indias favor, i'm afraid they will resort to military force.
Hopefully not, but it's a 50-50 situation right now, if the Indians are dead serious about their plans and preparations for attacks inside Pakistan, the PA, GoP and the Pakistani people should be ready.
As PM Gilani said before, the Pakistani response will be swift and punishing retribution.

I can just imagine the Spanish making the ETA guy write a letter to the UN acknowledging his deeds, and nationality

I wonder what it says.

"My Lords, ladies and gentlemen,

I, Ajmal Kasab, I mean Iman, admit I am a Pakistani *wink wink*, was trained by ISI who trained me into an overweight lardy-arsed killing machine. Noone should doubt my words. I write this wearing no Kalava, and I cannot speak Hindi.

Namaste, oops, I mean Salaam
"

lmao

.
I can't belive it,it is too easy for indian to get that letter.
there must be somebody profit from Mumbai attack, but it not seemed likely to be Pakistan goverment.

Rightly observed.

ISLAMABAD: A top Pakistani official has sought to doubt the authenticity of the letter written by Ajmal Amir Kasab, the lone gunman captured for
the Mumbai terror attacks, to seek legal aid from the Pakistan government.

Interior Secretary Syed Kamal Shah claimed the language and contents of the letter did not "match those of a real Pakistani".

"They (Indians) have simply tried to make up a story and have even failed in that too," Shah told reporters during a visit on Tuesday to the headquarters of the National Database and Registration Authority, Pakistan's national database.

Questioning the authenticity of the letter written by Ajmal Kasab, Shah repeated interior ministry chief Rehman Malik's contention that no records of Kasab had been found in the NADRA database.

However, the database covers only 60 million of Pakistan's total population of over 160 million.

Shah also said the Indian authorities had not yet shared evidence on the Mumbai attacks with Pakistan.

"Why did the Indians not share the identity of the others accused in the attacks? They are talking just about Ajmal Kasab, who was not even arrested from the crime scene," he said.

He also said that one of the mobile phone Subscriber Identity Modules allegedly recovered from Kasab was issued from Austria.

Kasab’s father recently admitted to the influential Dawn newspaper that the gunman whose picture was beamed round the world by the media was his son. Residents of Kasab’s village of Faridkot in Punjab province too have told the Pakistani media that he belonged to the area and had told his mother during his last visit home that he was going away for jihad.

What the heck he is talking about. He was arrested while running away after firing at CST railway station. His crime was captured on CCTV, what else anybody get more than this. He was identified by the eye witnesses recently.

What does that supposed to be meant?. Is there a specific format in which each and every Pakistani writes a letter?.
