India gets Afghan peace talks slot

Seems some wanna bees are desperate for a rude awakening... When the superpowers, the likes of Russia and America couldn't get a foothold in Afghanistan...... what chance or hope does a micro midget like India has.
You can have all the peace talks and dialogues but if the core issues are not addressed, than the reality comes baring down and the history will once again repeat it'self. !!

Firstly we don't want a foothold in Afghanistan.

We just want a Terrorist free afghanistan and one which trades with India . That is all .

Secondly i will tell you which country was micro-midget .

It was Pakistan prior to 1971 and post 1971 it became Nano-midget .Messing with India any further will make things... smaller .

.
What role have you played in Afghanistan before ? He was comparing India with super powers like USSR and USA ... and one thing more Pakistan has been involved in Afghanistan since 3 decades ... So its highly unlikely that India can somehow reap more benefit than experienced Pakistan :P

Is this experience that allows Pakistan to overcome the humiliation caused by daily drone attacks for protecting taliban. What role Pakistan has played in Afghanistan other than supporting terrorists.

*** face-palm *** If i apply the same logic , even the 2 superpowers become terrorist :P and India the fourth for supporting Northern Alliance :D Drone attacks are done because of protection of Taliban ? :undecided:

Agreed...... they were the people behind the problem. But now when they are trying to rectify there mistake, why is Pakistan putting obstacles in it?

Are you guys under some delusion ? You will be negotiating with the same people whom you call terrorist and against whom you have supported Northern Alliance ... It is highly irrelevant if Pakistan is a nano-midget or not because we are simply saying what can India do when even USA and USSR couldn't do nothing and returned home , defeated and with economy is shambles

There is a difference ... Indian involvement in afghanistan is of development and nation building .. whereas pakistan motives are clearly establishing favorable taliban rule... our objective is nation building whereas yours is to push back afghans to the dark ages as you successfully did by raising and supporting the mullah omars taliban...

.
I have never understood why Pakistan has been anti northern alliance, especially massoud and favored the brutality of taliban... Just because of ethnic bigotry, because massoud was a tajik...

You are possibly right. Both Taliban and NA approached Pakistan initially but Pakistan rebuffed Masoud.
This was a big mistake by Pakistan; we could have helped forge a coalition government in Afghanistan after the Soviets left.

2. They were ruthless warlords but they were not pashtuns and if the culture in Pakistani and afghan pashtun areas ( majority taliban members) is taken into consideration and compare that with the culture in Tajikistan , iran and uzbekistan( countries that share a culture with the Northern alliance) than it is not difficult to imagine that the Afghanistan would have been better off under northern alliance .

The extremist culture was imported with the AQ fighters. Initially, the Afghans -- both Taliban and NA -- were just warlords: ruthless but not necessarily extreme in other respects.

In fact Mullah Omar gained a following precisely because he stood for justice and the rights of ordinary Afghans against the warlords.

As it is Indians support civilian govt rule in Afghanistan and not that of any warlords unlike Pakistan . India supported the NA only to uproot the Taliban rule from afghanistan

That is factually incorrect. India played the proxy game just like Pakistan after Soviet withdrawal. The only difference is that they lost.

Are they really trying to rectify their mistakes ? Because it wasn't Pakistan which asked USSR and USA to poke their nose in Afghanistan in the first place ... so Pakistan putting obstacles in the peace process is out of the question

Whats wrong in dialogue? If we go by your logic, then we should not talk to Pakistan also.

Dialogue is the best & only way to resolve the problems. Be it Taliban or Pakistan we will continue doing it.

O just tell me how much influence Karzai have on its masses out side of Kabul or should i say outside of green zone and inside of Kabul.

Let me tell you , less than Zero

Just google how Taliban came into being or Birth of the Taliban and you will understand what caused their ideology to flourish ...

When USSR entered into Afghanistan......... Why did Pakistan support US to take them out?

Aren't you guys equally responsible for the current situation of Afghanistan? I would say you guys are more responsible then any one else.

You were the people, who have used Afghanistan as a Ginni Pig.

Cant say much about the direction Pakistan as a country has taken in this 10 years.. So I really dont know who is going to be more impacted with this to continue

Pakistan is being punished for winning the proxy war against American interests.

The main thing holding Pakistan back is the security situation. This will improve dramatically as soon as the Americans leave Afghanistan (if they ever do). The Afghan Taliban (assuming they are holed up in Pakistan) will go back to their homeland; presumably with some negotiated settlement. As for the TTP and BLA, they will be neutralized quite easily once their NATO-supplied sanctuary in Afghanistan disappears.

So you still support Taliban?? In that case....... God bless Pakistan.
