During 1857 revolt , Britishers were then aware that this revolt will be tough to handle. So they planned a strategic response. They started telling Muslims that Hindus have Vishwa Hindu University in Banaras so Muslims should have a Muslim university too.

And within 20 years they established Aligarh Muslim University under the direction of a England returned scholar, Sir Syed Ahmed. And this is the same university where two nation theory originated and now it's product is Pakistan. This also divided Muslims , some were pro Indian against this university and some favored it.

Its true that the Britishers planned according to their strategy to divide the masses in terms of religion, sects, castes and tribes . so that British can rule over all the colonies and even increase their presences in new lands and already after 150 years we are able to see the present situation.

Western education system was laid in which both the communities were seeing in terms of their relations with British and in that only soldiers of both communities fought wars and dead in thousands in mainland Europe. And now both the communities are seen as invaders.

Hindu organizations are working to bring different denominations of Hindus on one platform and make a consensus related to the issues because of which Hinduism is facing problem.

Indian Nationalism is with the Indians who belongs to all the religions. You just cant say that who are not Hindus are not true Indians and not love their country.

I think here people need to understand that Indian Muslims are even Indian nationalists and they have proved it many times. Hindu Groups like RSS talked about Akhand Bharat before Independence which was no different from what Indian Muslims were saying.
