That has gone into "super-stealthy" mode now. Nobody can see those Su-35s, not the Russians, not even the PAF.

Considering the past experience , one can predict little behavioral pattern of the enemies.
India has fought 3 and half (Kargil) wars with Pakistan in which China never directly or indirectly intervened.

So the war with Pakistan is considered likely but not imminent.
As for China, I see that China is busy in South China sea imbroglio and rivalry with the US and will be busy as such for a long time to come. And don't forget Taiwan issue.

My crystal ball does not see any war with China. There is no likelihood.

Indian Armed Forces (defense) purchase is to secure the nation's borders.
National security can not take a back seat, neither it should be put to back burner.

Indian Generals/Admirals are experienced enough to buy their weapons commensurate with future threat perception.

India knows the bang of the buck (arms spending) as well as "know thy enemy" adage.

For comparison education gets 11 % - a whopping $ 66 billion allocation.

If we start spending 3 % of our GDP in defense,we can have a $ 70 billion defense budget .Alas

Yes, doubling your defence will significantly reduce your HDI and GDP per Capita, its not that easy- to increase defence budgets you have to go paralell with the grown rate.
