You will never find Scatland in any of the world top ranking except weapons procurement, corruption, drugtrafficking and......... (auto-censored). In the last London Olympic, many western and Indian observers had predicted that India would shine and challege China in the medal tally given its outstanding performance in the shameful Delhi Games. The Indian media and Government were very eager that Indian athletes aped China which after its economic boom had performed very well in sports particularly at the Olympic and Paralympic Games. But the ex Shining Scatland had miserably failed clinching not even a single gold medal in both events. Moreover the Scatlanders and Bollywooddaydreamers' performance was even worst compared to the Beijing Games of 2008.

I'm sorry you've been called names like that. Well we do have our share of idiots too.
On the other hand, I've just checked up the people who called you names and most of them seem to be one(few) post folks. So trolls basically. I'm surprised you can't separate the wheat from the chaff.

Anyway on topic. Most Indian universities are not all topic places. They specialize in individual areas where they do OK (not great though). Moreover the priority has always been getting as many educated rather than university rankings.

It'll be a long time before India has its universities figuring in the top. With emphasis on education in Indians being high, it is only a matter of time before there are a few which will make it into the list.
