While the Pak Army is contemplating a cleanup operation against the remnants of Al-Qaeda and Taliban in North Waziristan, the Indian army has started a month long exercise along Pak border. Over 12000 troops drawn from the three armed forces are participating in the exercise Pine Prahar that also include a large number of tanks, artilleries, precision munitions, and advance surveillance system. Additionally, more than 50,000 troops of the Indian army are participating in an exercise named Vijayee Bhava.

The proclaimed objective of these exercises is to evaluate and test new equipment technologies and concept of modern welfare, which has been the outcome of the army transformation studies. The Indians are integrating air and land battle at a short notice in their war games. They are giving the message that they are exercising a pre-emptive strike deep inside Pakistan.

The timing of exercise is very dangerous especially when the Pak army is engaged in a survival battle against terrorists who are targeting the military and security agencies and civil society. And since Pakistan is a front state in the global war against terrorism, undermining its interests is a grave blow to international war against terrorism.

Exploiting the difficulties of Pakistan, the Indians are waging unprecedented psychological war against the military to the extent that extreme voices are urging India to conduct a pre-emptive strikes against Pak strategic assets.

Following the US raid deep inside Pakistan to take Osama bin Laden, the Indian military strategists are considering conducting similar raid on the plea that nukes could not stop the United States from breaching Pak air space. The Indians are holding consultation with western military experts on the feasibility of a pre-emptive strike deep inside Pakistan. They are encouraged to take action on the grounds that countries that have nuclear weapons can still be confronted and operated against without escalation to nuclear use particularly when the objective pursued is limited and discriminate.

It is no secret that the Indian army and air chiefs have recently asserted that they could replicate the American Operation Geronimo in Pakistan. The Indiana are mistakenly emboldened by the success of the raid to think that they could get away with something similar. It is not that simple since the difference is huge. India is next door and not thousands of miles away.

Undoubtedly, any Indian adventure against Pakistan could endanger regional and global peace and security since Islamabad would respond swiftly and decisively. India would face catastrophic consequences if it takes the American action as a rule and miscalculates Pakistan’s response. Both India and Israel tried to target Kahuta nuclear reactor when the nuclear programme was in infancy but could never dare to attack Pakistan. How can India now attack Pakistan when Pakistan has a powerful nuclear arsenal ? It has the delivery system, missiles and aircraft , to fire these weapons and a huge professional army to support the nuclear programme.

Indian pre-emption against Pak nuclear assets can never materialized since India can never locate the mobile delivery system. After the successful test of Hatf-IX ( Nasr), Pakistan may soon mutate it to develop a submarine platform. Hence , the threat of destruction will assuredly become mutual.

The United States has committed a blunder by Operation Geronimo even as it classified Pakistan as its major non-Nato ally. It ignored its grave implication on regional and global peace. It has given a message to the enemies of Pakistan that it is vulnerable. However, this misconceived vulnerability could compel Pakistan to use its nuclear doctrine. One hopes, however, that wisdom would prevail and that Washington and New Delhi would give up their military postures.

What Pakistani has to do with our training exercises? Such exercises takes places every year.

We can't change our schedule just because of a US raid, or some bunch of terrorists attacked your airbase.

.
Very good, just because Pakistan is performing anti-terrorist operations on its own soil, India should even stop carrying out routine military exercises.

Lol why the writer is concerned over a military exercise in India?
Its a routine stuff! What to do else? Go for fishing or rock climbing?

Sure....

Because some dick and harry was offended with the timings of Indian war games and published an article fearing the future of sub-continent and most importantly WOT( ????????) we are discussing it here?

Maybe a small search on google helps him find about the number of wargames that took place every year.
So we cant have wargames when there is an attack on thier headquarters, air bases, naval bases, mil accademies,........
That implies we can never have any wargames in future :(

.
We should send some ready to fire tactical nuclear missle to the border just in case they get over confident in their exercise and decide to make a bollywood film.
