As I have alway reiterated. Such news should never come to the media. DRDO should first prove they can make them and then they should make some noise. Why do the DRDO always screw up with media.

But what sells the paper is over promise and under deliver. Under deliver would create more articles of criticism from the media, which is what they want. If everything turn out well, there would be no need for critical articles that sell the papers.

Tell us one single country that did it secretly with media knowing about it. India demonstrated against 2000 km missiles and next target against 5000 km missiles.

Well considering the fact that we have developed an interceptor for 2000 Km range balistic missiles and have tested it multiple times , i dont think that we would face any problems in fielding a missile interceptor capable of shooting down ICBMs of 5000+ km range by say 2016 as mentioned in the article

Higher speed and a larger launch to Impact trajectory + MIRV? this will make 5000 Km Icbms a different thing altogether. ICBMs go stratospheric and then divide into multiple warheads....
In simple terms we need something Fassst , Has very quick response times (so as to Intercept , before ICBM goes Stratospheric), and of course needs Tracking Radars with at least 5000 km+ range.
