India Developing, but still a long way to go

Omaxe waterfront hi-tech city , allahabad
Omaxe Water Front - A 1535 Acres Self Sustained Hi- tech Township Project by Omaxe is conceived under the grand vision, under Hi-tech Township Policy initiative of Govt of Uttar Pradesh, establishing self-sustained hi-tech settlements within the state for harnessing the rapid growth of its economy for a balanced development of its hinterland.Ask the connoisseurs of luxury about their most admired residential locations in this world and the most common thing you would find between their dreams would be an arresting and crystal clear view of tranquil waters running in the front. Thames, Hudson or Nile, name the famous water banks and you will find the dream abodes of the famed and famous. And the aspiration to create that heavenly lifestyle drove us to the serene streams of the Ganges in Allahabad.

The metamorphosis turned the quiet banks into the most premium and prestigious address of Allahabad and significantly India's first ever hi-tech city spread over rambling 1535 acres of land with rejuvenating waters at the front, Omaxe Waterfront. And the proposal is as deep as the Ganges. With state-of-the-art office complexes, special entertainment zones, educational institutes, health club, supermarkets, hospitals and everything that you can get in a metropolitan with revitalizing greens, Omaxe Waterfront turns out to be a self-sustained city in itself that will add an extremely modern skyline to the city of Allahabad and will be a gem to city's

Unbelievable :

  • MUMBAI: A Cushman & Wakefield released recently said the estimated demand for office space across the top eight Indian cities in the period 2013 - 2017 is expected to be 132 million square feet (msf).
132 Million! Top 1-2-3 it's gotta be, worldwide!
All this in recessionary times, imagine the future.

Subsidy = $ 40-50 Billion

Remittances + IT Exports + All other exports = $ 100 Billion + $ 100 Billion + ~ 150 Billion = $ 350 Billion

So India gets better-&-better as the govt.'s # 1 import is crude oil & gas which is sold at cost, profit or some subsidy. Gold, diamonds and IC chips form large import items along with special machines like electric steel smelters, again for profit.

As India's Krishna-Godavari gas assets come online in the coming few yrs. and energy prices erode re: huge fracking gas and other exploits in US, Canada, Oz, Brazil etc.; the future looks bright.

Compare:

A 5 km. Gurgaon metro is approx. $ 182 Mil., or the ~ 17 km Eastern Expressway below $ 190 Mil.

Peanuts, considering they are among the most needed, metropolitan and therefore expensive projects in India Vs. $ 350 - $ 50 = $ 300 Billion. Yet world class, but not next gen. !
If India was to go for say, maglev mass transport, then the funding would have cut costs so much more and eveyone knew maglev was the future even 25 yrs. ago. Put it another way, if Karachi went all maglev with it's future mass rapid transport system it could secure funding for much cheaper even if the Shanghai and Singapore maglev lines have proven that maglev is real.

India's therefore got $ 300 Billion/yr. of bankable value to put down for paying stuff like infra., but it may be a while before the social sector gets laptops and toilets to every child or primary school.

India's solidly on it's way.
