India Developing, but still a long way to go

$ 1 Trillion-Chillion ... wot!

What does that mean in the Indo-Pak context, pls. explain re: simple minds like yours truly?
Specially if looked at through the lens of purchasing power parity (PPP, - not to be confused with Pak. Ppl.'s Party;)) .

Looking more like PPP $ 10 Trillum-Chillum :woot: !

on an average yes. expecting immense growth in rural areas.

mostly with major connectivity improvement and infrastructure upgrade, growth will be hampered only by our policymakers.i expect the current protectionist-rhetorical atmosphere to evaporate, once the utility of progressive policies is evident to the masses, politicians will happily oblige.

expect real second generation reforms by 2014-2015, especially in taxation, food and storage, urban planning, renewable energy and education.

$1 trillion investment is for next 5 years.
1)The money will be used for road modernization like new 4/6 lanes highways, new expressways and converting single lane highways into two lanes highways with Paved Shoulders and lots of rural roads, state roads etc.

2)Railways in mountain Areas and new railway lines as Dedicated Freight Corridors for sole purpose of cargo service. Others are gauge conversion, track doubling, electrification.

3)Rapid transit like Metro Rail and Monorail in every Indian city with more than 2 million population(some 2 dozens cities of India.)

4) Huge investment in power sector. in last 5 years major infrastructure budget was in power sector.
5) There are many more.

There is not much in India Pakistan context apart from there is huge infrastructure modernization in Himalayan region as most of the roads are being broadened and converted into all weather highways.

I wish they had put Made-In-India metro's in, like the new Indian made, robust and contemporary Bombay/Hydb/Madras locals.

There sure is a case for total 360% indigenous production in metro rails given India's massive capacity in Railway Engg. R & D (ok at best compared to China, France, Japan, Canada, Germany, US etc.) but specially rail manufacturing :D:.

All corrupt like to import rather than develop indigineously, better commissions in terms of cash, contracts, contacts, patronage, foreign travel and lot's of dining, wining and tourism thrown in.
Another hell of an opportunity lost to mc-bc corrupt politicos :disagree:.

Metro Rails are "Made in India". Bombardier has manufacturing unit in India and another government owned company BEML is also manufacturing Metro trains.

Really? I thought Bombardier only has a software unit. Didn't know about BEML either - will look it up.
