Whether it is a Yakhont or even a repainted Pritvi - it does not matter. India has declared it is meant for Aircraft carrier and it carries more weight as India is more open with its weapons testing. Are you aware that the missile has more than 2,000 critical machined components? The production of the missile is being shared by a consortium of public and private industries from India and Russia. The Indian private sector company L&T Mumbai makes the composites. Godrej Aerospace produces the airframe, wings as well as pneumatic and hydraulic systems. In addition, five critical assemblies are entrusted to the company to be manufactured.

HAL Hyderabad makes the inertial navigation system and the missile checkout system. Ananth’s aerospace division provides both embedded software, hardware and system design.

Also to fire at a AC you will have to get near it... now in a real war scenerio ... what are the odds of getting so close to an AC with AWACS support,H-9 SAMs,other weapons etc and dozens of jets protecting it? almost zero... to sink an AC you will need a super speedy,long ranged missile, not a short ranged airlaunched CM... Plus russians have the source codes... will they give em to you in case of a war with china?

dude...you are funny. ever heard about HMS Sheffield??it was sunk by an Exocet.Exocet was not even a supersonic missile like brahmos and if it can destroy an cruiser,why dont few brahmos can sink an aircraft carrier,which due to its speed,almost unstoppable.

Besides the issue of source codes has been resolved long ago.
