sir, what is the status of supersonic cruise missile project of DRDO with 1000km range ? We have heard of hypersonic brahmos and sub sonic Nirbhay but never heard of the long range supersonic cruise missile project ?

First of all let me make this clear. Brahmos and DRDO are two different entities sharing the same technological base in cruise missiles or future missile ventures. The main Idea is not the missile the idea is to learn its sub systems and manufacture it locally for longer ranged missiles being developed or to be developed. There are R&D's happening in the country which only the Core DRDO scientists and President knows about.

I think the psychological impact of this missile would be more than the actual impact - Especially if someone doubts whether it would work or not - think about a country's top officials spending time and energy on discussing whether to spend money on developing defences against this missile. Imagine this missile again at the hands of small countries and especially in the narrow south china sea.
