India deploys Heavy infantry and moves heavy artillery near LOC

Last night, the iaf gave a "crack....crack....booooom" right above our roof!!!! Almost gave me a heart attack

Are you sure?? Where do you think major offensive will come from India on Pakistan?? I have not seen air defence on Karachi port as it was visible during previous hostile times.

No, the Cold Start doesn't consider Karachi immediately. That's a full scale war scenario for the Indian planners as they'll have to mobilize the IN and that takes weeks.

Cold Start means 2-3 of their strike corps (they call them IBG's or integrated battle groups), integrated with dedicated strike and intercept units of the IAF squadrons (like a mini army by itself). Their goal is to primarily Thrust quickly into enemy's territory with dedicated strike and interception support from the IAF. Primarily focused on Punjab and Kashmir. So the offenses will come from these places. More than likely, starting from heavy shelling from the LOC.

Exactly According to Express News Pakistan Daftar-e-Kharja also confirms the BBC Reports about the movement of heavy ammunition across the LOC in IOK(Indian Occupied Kashmir). Missiles are also been fitted in some parts as well.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday spent his day at a military operation room where he monitored his army’s movement along the LoC.

India deployed heavy infantry to front posts along the Line of Control (LoC),
Top Indian defence officials told BBC on condition of anonymity that Indian Army has deployed heavy and light infantry along LoC. As of now, officials said, the army has deployed canons in Uri sector.
India, however, denies the reports that such weapons have been deployed to tackle any military escalation with Pakistan. According to Indian Army, the development is a part of routine exercise ahead of winter season.

NEW DELHI: The Army continues to steadily upgrade its "operational readiness" all along the 778-km Line of Control, with redeployment of troops and some "forward movement" of ammunition and fuel dumps, even as it "refines" a variety of contingency plans in conjunction with the IAF.

The Army+ has made a series of presentations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, including one in its military operation directorate with detailed maps and sand-models on Tuesday night. "There have been other top-level meetings over the last two days, including with national security adviser Ajit Doval, to discuss the operational situation along the LoC as well as the military options available to turn the heat up+ on Pakistan," said a source.

Though "retributive covert or overt strikes" on terror-training camps and other targets in Pakistan are on the table, sources said they will only be undertaken with "cold calculation" with clear objectives in mind if diplomatic measures do not get desired results.

"All military contingency plans have risks involved, and therefore have risk-mitigation measures factored in. But the government has to decide which plan should be rolled out, with what resources and what timelines," said a source.

But an all-out war is clearly ruled out with no large-scale troop mobilization, akin to Operation Parakram in the aftermath of the Parliament attack in December 2001, being initiated as of now. With India "thickening" its operational posture along the LoC, Pakistan too has shored up its border defences, including reinforcing its artillery positions.

As reported by TOI earlier, India's options for "limited but punitive strikes" range fromconcentrated firepower assaults+ with 155mm artillery guns, Smerch rockets and BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles to "surgical air strikes" by fighter jets to take out known terror camps through precision-guided munitions.

"There is the option for cross-border raids, shallow ones by infantry Ghatak Platoons and deeper ones by Para-Special Forces," said a source. The Army has already also moved two additional brigades into the south Kashmir and other areas to strengthen the counter-infiltration and counter-terrorism grids in the region, which has made more troops available for the LoC.

If I was to guess watching this getting unfold, Modi is going to use heavy artillery from within the Indian side for a few days to shell whatever he perceives are the "targets" across the border. Heavy artillery has good range, some in excess of 40 km's, so theoretically they can shell for a few days and say "we destroyed our targets" and you may see a few close incursions on the border. But a full scale attack won't be done. Unless some general or air-force commander makes a mistake of crossing into Pakistan. That is their red line.

So they might flex the muscles from distance, use artillery from within India for a few days and life will go back to normal as light arms fire is traded every week, so this would be covered under that umbrella and won't be considered a "war".

The reports aren't suggesting of any cool off of anything. In fact, this is the first time since 2002 that the Indian side has ordered evacs out to 50 KM's (estimated range of Pakistani artillery). You only issue such orders when you expect these areas to be hit, and there are war marking flags all across the region. So something is about to go down. I just hope its blowing off steam from distance and not actually attacking or crossing the border. That would for sure turn into a full scale war.
It will be the same reply if u think that Pak let ur public pressure release its its 40kms u will receive 60kms...
2 days wont be enough for this crap of indian to bring down to reality..
Modi dont know yet their talk sounds good for their public for vote.

I have a bad feeling that this situation is different. Army wont let anyone get away with murdering 17 of their own. Modi's options might be limited here. I see a big big escalation coming in Balochistan and LOC . India should brace for the fallout coz Pakistan is not going to sit quiet either.

The biggest risk is the impact on Indian economy in the short term. Stock market will tank and FDI will be frozen but this will be short term coz of India's overwhelming superiority in conventional warfare. Its just so so unfortunate.

and how is that so? did we put a curfew in IOK and use pellet guns? kill 109 people in IOK. don't blame us for your mess ups

The part you refer is part of the sovereign land of India. There are issues there. However its between them and the Indian Govt. No need for anyone to butt into. Please do not bring plebiscite, want of freedom etc into that.

However, the current scenario is done by GHQ. Sure, go ahead and say it is not. We will all listen. Just wait 5 or 10 years. Pak army itself will say that. To stay relevant. Happened with Kargil. Will happen again.

Is india moving something?
Last time they moved something It was a logistics nightmare - lot of their soldiers died - :cheesy:
Bhai bade bade countries mein ese chute mote baatein hoti rahti hai.
