India captures North Korean ship

North Korea ship crew uncooperative:India investigators

PORT BLAIR, India (Reuters) - The crew of a North Korean ship carrying a cargo of sugar that was detained off the Andaman and Nicobar islands, was not cooperating with Indian investigators, an official said on Sunday.

The MV Musen dropped anchor off Hut Bay island on Wednesday without permission. When a coastguard vessel approached, the ship tried to escape, and was detained after a more than six-hour chase.

"We are not getting any cooperation from their side," said an official of the Joint Investigating Team, who asked not to be identified as he is not authorised to speak to the media.

U.N. member states are authorised to inspect North Korean sea, air and land cargo, and seize and destroy any goods transported in violation of a Security Council resolution in June following the North's nuclear tests.

Indian investigators were awaiting permission from the foreign ministry to berth the ship at a port so that the 39 crew members could be brought ashore for interrogation and the ship completely inspected, the Indian official said.

Investigators were also awaiting the arrival of a Korean interpreter on Sunday, said Superintendent of Police Ashok Chand.

"They are a little hesitant to share information," he said.

"No arrests have been made till now, that would be decided later," he said. It wasn't clear yet where the ship was headed.

Officials from the Indian army, navy and the Intelligence are conducting the investigation.

North Korean sales of missiles and other weapons materials to tense or unstable parts of the world have long been a major concern of the United States and its allies.

The isolated Communist country, which has walked out of six-party talks aimed at reining in its nuclear weapons programme, fired a barrage of short-range missiles in launch tests in May and exploded a nuclear device on May 25, resulting in tougher U.N. sanctions that it has ignored.

Whining by you and Chinese members shows that China might be smuggling missile to Pakistan in that ship via N.Korea :what::what: A guess??

Going by your fuzzy logic....India should let every unrecognized ship/boat roam freely into its territorial water....

Do you know the difference between international waters and territorial water....even enemy nations respect each others territorial waters during peace days.....why should N Korea be any different......there is a protocal to be folllowed by every sealiner across the globe.....and tresspassers are always proscuted.

i would say detaining of North Korean ship by india isnt that big issue, if and only if it was illegally in the indian waters rather then international waters. but mentioning pakistan in this report by the indian media (which now has become a regular feshion,as they dont miss any chance to involve pakistan in any issue regardless of its connection with that issue ) shows that either indian media is too much cunning and short sighted or its absolutely nieve.Obviosly it doesnt effect pakistan in any case either but suerly further infuriates the emitions of some fanatics.
Can't believe you have the audacity to say that even though India caught Pakistan red-handed buying missile technology from North Korea.
your statement sounds like india is some big boss and caught its employee while stealing:rofl: Pakistan is a soverign country and doesnt need to hide buying any missile technology from any country, if u can do that in the name of joint venture with russia for cruse missiles so can we, with any country.
lastly IMO india has no direct threat from North korea, as its case is totally differnt then japan or south korea, it can resolve its issues with NK through deplomatic channels,y to create one more enemy for no good reasons????

Yes.. Pakistan is a sovereign country. It has every right to sell nuclear weapons and technologies to countries such as North Korea, Iran and Libya and has every right to buy missile technologies from NK too. No one is stopping Pakistan from having extensive military links with a state which has killed and tortured numerous innocent civilians.

And yeah.. if you don't want India to act like "some big boss", tell your North Korean friends to not send their military shipments through Indian territorial waters. :azn:

well sir i am deaply impressed by ur views, at least u r the first indian to pricipally recognize our rights:rofl:
No one is stopping Pakistan from having extensive military links with a state which has killed and tortured numerous innocent civilians.

hummmm, very true indead, but i guess no one is stopping india either from having extensive military links with states like russia and israel which has killed and tortured numerous innocent civilians, remember what russians did Afghanistan and remember what israel is doing in palistine.:disagree: further more no one is stopping india from establishing extensive military links with state like the big daddy america which has killed and tortured numerous innocent civilians, remember what they are doing in Iraq.:disagree:

And yeah.. if you don't want India to act like "some big boss", tell your North Korean friends to not send their military shipments through Indian territorial waters. :azn:

well koreans arent the love of our lives but we dont take them as enimies either our relationship with them is so-so, may be india can make them friends also, or atleast bring thier relationship to a so-so level. lets not get involoved in the bigger boys game, let them play as the want for countries like india and pakistan the most suitable position would be spectators bench.
lastly we will keep in mind yor advise and tell our korean friends not to bring any miltary shipments through indian waters. i mean y to bring it throght indian waters when their are several other rutes and ways????:rofl:

.
North Korean ship anchored in Indian territorial waters without notification:undecided:, without permission:tdown:. When it was approached, it didn't answer:hitwall:. It was acting suspiciously.:mod:

The Indian government then took action to bring it into port.

The fact is that the Indian Government may have been acting under international law. It may have been acting under its own domestic law.

Yeah.. the Russians are evil ones and those who carried out the Beslan school siege were angels sent from above who will get 72 virgins in heaven for massacring innocent children.

And FYI... there is a huge difference between conventional arms trade, and nuclear arms trade.

further more no one is stopping india from establishing extensive military links with state like the big daddy america which has killed and tortured numerous innocent civilians, remember what they are doing in Iraq.:disagree:

:what: It is not India which goes to USA with a begging bowl for billions of dollars in aid but Pakistan. It is not India which allows USA to operate its drones to massacre innocent civilians but Pakistan. It is not India which asked USA to send its nuclear aircraft carrier to the Bay of Bengal in 1971 but Pakistan.

lastly we will keep in mind yor advise and tell our korean friends not to bring any miltary shipments through indian waters. i mean y to bring it throght indian waters when their are several other rutes and ways????

I know!! How stupid right? A North Korean ship on a secret mission to supply long-range missiles to Pakistan passes through Indian territorial waters.

Perfect example of -
"Apne pairo pe khud kulhadi marna"

y do u think that incident happend???? let me tell u when u supress others and make them your slaves and treat them like s***, reactions like those are bound to happen, lets not go into detail wat is happening between chachnia and russia. just tell me how on earth you justify russian invasion of Afganistan??? dont come up with some pity school siege example, logic will be appriciated.
And FYI... there is a huge difference between conventional arms trade, and nuclear arms trade.
yeah.... nd wat is that?? are the conventional arms made for the betterment nd prosperity of man kind???:what: what good does it serve???, conventinal are as dirty as nuclear, the only difference is in their lethality, otherwise both serve the common purpose of distruction, so therefore coventional arms trade is as dirty as nuclear. realy no point in defending either.
:what: It is not India which goes to USA with a begging bowl for billions of dollars in aid but Pakistan.
hahaha:rofl: i love it man when u people through in this statement:rofl: u know wat , the thing that bothers u is not the begging bowl of dollars in aid,but us being strong enough and maneging it good enough to keep u at bay. This really have become one of our strong points that buggs u very much:rofl:
It is not India which allows USA to operate its drones to massacre innocent civilians but Pakistan.:
its seems u are deaply gereved for the massacre of innocent civilians of pakistan:lol: by the way wat are those innocent civilians doing in caves??? oops wait,, arent they indian funded fools which the whole world usually calls terrorrists. you better ask your new american friends to further clear that up for you.

hummmmmm,,, now wat is this statement intended for??? any way let me tell we never deny our relationship with US, thats a fact, but that doesnot mean all is well with US. your point is ur earlier post was to prove North koreans eval as they according to you killed and tortured innocent civilans and we are willing to have a relationship with them, but u didnt explain y is india more then willing to have relationship with US which killed and tortured innocent civilans in Iraq, and same goes for Isreal what it is doing in palistine and what russians did in afganistan??? isnt it strange some countries are called eval while others proudly called friends and allies even they have simalar deads and records??? may be the allies record is much more ugly then the evals...

I know!! How stupid right? A North Korean ship on a secret mission to supply long-range missiles to Pakistan passes through Indian territorial waters.

would u call that a secreat mission???:what: may be u keep ur secrets that way.. we have better ways:rofl:

Presently North Korea is the cradle of proliferation of sensitive missile components, nuclear technology to other nations , the ship being claimed to carry sugar to Iraq if you can believe that and i guess it has more to do with the recent reports of increased co-operation between NK and Myanmar.

seems strange a North Korean ship was carrying sugar. when sugar is not a product of North Korea.

By the way, they were caught near one of the very few islands in the Andamans where the tribals dont wear any clothes. If the sugar was for them, perhaps the N koreans dont know that those islands also have canibals.

The fact that you could even come up with that statement speaks volumes about the level of ignorance here. It is a matter of common knowledge that nuclear weapons not only create a greater explosion (even a small 10 kiloton bomb can create energy same as 10,000 tons of TNT), but also the nuclear fallout can cause severe illness leading to slow death after days or even years of suffering. Radiation can cause genetic damage leading to babies being born deformed. It contaminates large areas of land, making it useless for agriculture for years or even decades. It is for this very reason that sane countries have taken every possible step to ensure that rogue states, such as NK, Iran and Libya, never got these weapons. But obviously Pakistanis are the odd ones out.

:rofl::rofl:

So.. you're trying to say that Pakistan is strong and that is why it is asking USA for billions for dollars in aid??!!

It amuses me that Pakistan accepts $1.5 billion from USA annually to kill its own people and then some of its citizens come here and claim that Pakistan is actually managing its relations with USA "to keep India at bay".

its seems u are deaply gereved for the massacre of innocent civilians of pakistan

Yes, because unlike you I value human life. Unfortunately, there are several people in my neighboring country who will kill their own countrymen for their political gains.

by the way wat are those innocent civilians doing in caves??? oops wait,, arent they indian funded fools which the whole world usually calls terrorrists. you better ask your new american friends to further clear that up for you.

Oh really?! We have a follower of Zaid Hamid here it seems.

Yeah.. Indians love those mullahs. After all, these people train Kashmiri insurgents, and want to destroy all non-Islamic culture. Oh what will India without these mullahs? :undecided:

would u call that a secreat mission??? may be u keep ur secrets that way.. we have better ways

Nah.. we keep our secrets this way...
