India capable of US-like Operation

Indian army chief has stated that India is capable to carry out US-like operation inside Pakistan.

the anti Pakistan hysteria created by the Indian media probably got "happy news", they were looking from their leadership.

I think we all know what both countries are capable off. so at high official level such irresponsible statements must not be given, at the time when peace process is being started again, Monmohan must have some control over their country's AC. or atleast demand some explanation from him.

First of we lack the heli tech, our AP CM just died of a crash. That being said my dear Pakistanis' take this with a grain of salt.....but at the same time give up Dawood, LET and Hizbul chiefs.

The army chief is only stating a fact in response to a question, he is not making any suggestions whether it should be done or not. In India, unlike Pakistan, the armed forces are apolitical and have little or no say in governmental matters. If MMS had said this then it could be seen as threatening or significant but it in this case the Army Chief only responded to a direct question in a tactical sense- cold and clinical, whether the GOVT has the balls to follow him up on it is another matter.

Whilst uptil now the IA/IAF were lacking in heli tech (this issue is being addressed rapidly with Dhruv, Apache, LUH and Chinook) they more than make up for it in flying skill. If you watch any of the programs on IA's CATS (Combat Aviation Training School) you will see just what impressive flyers the IA/IAF produce and the excellent standards they are trained to, with the Indian armed forces holding many world records in helicopter aviation. If asked to do it the armed forces will do it. Their's is not to question why. Their's is to do and die.


The politicians, sadly, don't seem to have woken up just yet. I wonder what it will take for them to do so? After 26/11 these guys made all the right noises, blew a lot of hot air, put IAF on alert and alert got the green light from the US and the rest of the world but it all came to naught. Craziness!!!
