Not for defending themself, but maybe for increasing 2 murders, into a conflict or even a full fledged war!

And IMO, that should be the spirit and India has got a lesson or two to learn from them.

There is no prevention, it's an over-reaction to a murder and by ignoring a murder that happend on their side too! They had a pretty long phase of peace in the area, that is gone now, because of 2 murders created by people that possibly wanted to provoke exactly that.

Why bother to take a stand at all? I dont see China or Russia taking a stand on this, lets sort out our own issues first before proceeding to someplace where we are not needed.

Please do not judge Israel using the Indian Scale. We could not do anything even after we suffered so many terror attacks, we don't value the lives of our civilians like the first world nations do. By reacting disproportionately Israel has managed to keep the casualties to the minimum on it's side. Merely equalizing or serving justice doesn't work when your enemy might mistake your good behaviour for weakness. Remember, finger only pulls the trigger, it is the brain which kills hence it is primarily a mind game.

I bet if India starts punishing/harassing/killing the family members and neighbours of the suspects we will see less number of people willing to committing terror acts. This is a conflict of civilizations and we must deal with it in a way which sends clear message to the other side.
