May be he was talking about a single 1.5 ton warhead when the missile is not Mirved. :undecided:
but Maximum declared yield is 250kT. That means if the warhead is 1.5 ton, then its sure that the yield should be more than 250kT If we have achieved the technology to miniaturise the bomb like W-76(162kg) warhead of Trident missile and W-88(approx. 360kg)

does any one know about mass to yeild ratio?

Well....Agni 3 is not MIRVed. Agni 5 may be but not confirmed yet. I did not see any statement in this regard recently.

BTW, I agree with your mass vs yield vs range. I do not have idea but I understand the point. I was more curious about the maximum payload.

this graph shows that Agni II has a pay Load of 2.4 ton. So Agni III will definitly have more than 1.5 ton similar to Agni II
