India borrowed our economic plans, claims Ahsan Iqbal

For that Pakistan would first have to be considered civilized or have any civilizational credit to steal.

India copies from Pakistan, it copies our economic plans, it copies are songs, it copies are dramas, it copies everything.

Since 1000 Muslim rule over India, and Hindus inability to rule any part ever of Pakistan from Punjab to Balochistan and from Khyber to Karachi, Hindus never had a chance to rule this part, it has made them psychological slaves.

They look up to Pakistanis.

That explains why pakistan is a super power .

What is the big deal here!!!!

South Korea now an economic giant did this in the 60's...when M. Haq was in the planning ministry, he gave the world HDI, human development index.

ISLAMABAD, Dec 13: South Korea crafted its five-year plans in the 1960s with the technical assistance of Pakistani planning authorities, but the subsequent years yielded opposite fortunes for both countries due to the state of implementation of those targets.

South korea was under dictatorship so was pakistan but they still managed to grow economically while pakistan stagnated. As such even pakistan should have achieved the same thing. Its not implementation its focus, SK wanted economic progress while pakistan was looking for salvation!. Both of them achieved what they set out to, dont see any thing going awry here.

As good as toilet paper. Nothing to steal here.
Please try harder to provide us evidence of Pakistan being civilized or any civilizational credit Pakistan has that can be stolen.

And stealing
Looking at the facts we build , they occupy it and claim it as theirs. Its look just stamping made in blah blah and claiming credit.

Irony is that word rupaiyya is sanskrit word and every claim they produce leaves a huge trail of evidence of the past.

I think it's appropriate. Just like we borrowed your economic plans and made it better, we allegedly borrowed this civilization and made it better. You're welcome.
these things do happen when you look at the cows and call it as camels.

That's not the point, going haywire. The OP was about India or for that matter other countries borrowing Pakistan's 5 year, 10 year or long term economic plans. Yes South Korea did borrowed from Pakistan economic plans in the 60's when M. Haq was the planning minister...who followed it with letter and spirit is a separate issue.

Forget everything the name India is coined by the Britishers later...couldn't come up with anything original even the name of the country, borrowed and used when enslaved...still using it. And the name Hindu is coined by the Persians...even here it is a borrowed term.

The name of India is a corruption of the word Sindhu. Persians uttered ‘s’ as ‘h’ and called this land Hindu. Greeks pronounced this name as Indus.

A little history -

Back in the days, when Sanskrit was the de facto language, this big group of rivers flowing through erstwhile west India was known as “Sapt-Sindhu” – which means seven rivers in Sanskrit – Indus (known as Sindhu then) and its tributaries – Sutlej, Jhelum, Beas, Ravi, Chenab and the now extinct Saraswati.
The people/culture/civilization living around Sindhu came to be known as “Sindhu”. The Persian traders started pronouncing it “Hindus”. The land of “Hindus” hence came to be known as Hindustan. So the people living in India before Mughals were knows as Hindus or Hindustani, which inherently means that “Hindu” is actually another name for the people living in India and has got nothing to do with religion.
The early European traders picked up “Hindus” from Asian merchants, esp Persians The Greeks simplified the name further by calling it “Indos”, and then some bright Greek scholar thought of substituting the “o” with "u”… and thus the name Indus was born. The Romans picked up the name and the "land of Indus” came to be known as “India”..

Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal. PHOTO: FILE

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has said India borrowed Pakistan’s economic and reforms plans and implemented them successfully while “we squandered the opportunity largely because of political instability”.

Speaking at the inauguration of Pakistan National Centre for Cyber Security in Islamabad on Monday, Iqbal, who also holds the portfolio of interior minister, said during the 90s then Indian finance minister Manmohan Singh borrowed economic reforms strategies from his Pakistani counterpart Sartaj Aziz and successfully implemented them in India.

He said Bangladesh also successfully used the same strategies but Pakistan could not put its own plans to use as the decade was lost to political instability.

The planning minister said the first opportunity for Pakistan’s economy to take off came in the 60s, the second in the 90s, and the third opportunity is knocking at the doors now, which must not be lost to instability like in the past.

Enough is enough, Ahsan Iqbal tells CJP

He described peace, stability and continuity as critical for economic progress.

“We will have to think why many countries which were behind us are now far ahead. China’s per capita income was far below Pakistan’s but is now much higher. Similarly, Bangladesh’s foreign reserves have reached $33 billion while we are at $18 billion. For how long, we will watch other countries overtake us,” the minister wondered.

He said tanks and missiles alone could not save a country “if it’s not strong economically”. He said while the armed forces had rendered great sacrifices, the successful fight against terrorism was possible also because of the availability of funds from the national budget.

“There was a time when terrorists had surrounded us but today the state has cornered them. If we squander this opportunity, the history and future generations will not forgive us,” Ahsan added.

He said in 2013 Pakistan was using 2G wireless technology but the country would now be among the first users of the 5G technology in the worild.

how come you guys missed this masterpiece ??

Well from the outset its wrong, because Indian economy was quite different to Pakistan economy...so the reforms could not have been copied or borrowed.

Not to mention they quoted the wrong person as well, Manmohan Singh was just the final third of the reform package one can say (and how much he actually did is still debatable). Majority of the plans came from the previous administration (Chandra Sekhar admin) with ppl like Yashwant Sinha working on the nitty gritty stuff.

Honestly when you remove shackles from an economy, its not really a case of borrowing from someone else how to do it. There can be some things that may look similar, but those are coincidences mostly.

Seems you need to work on your geography. How can India borrow civilization from India?

I thought you would show me something exclusive about Pakistan which we borrowed. You disappointed me. But I have high hopes from you. Better luck next time:)

how can the name be coined when it already existed? why did columbus name native americans as red indians ?

You provide the proof of word's existence and then claim british invented it.

Forget everything the name India is coined by the Britishers later...couldn't come up with anything original even the name of the country,
