What's new

India begins electricity export to Bangladesh

Now RAW can play Blackout-Blackout anytime.

. .
YES the west bengal data is partially correct,.. I live in kolkata, electricity here is provided by CESC which is a private corp owned by RP Goenka conglomerate.. power cuts are almost nil, maybe 5 mins every 2 months....

while in the districts electricity is provided by WBSEDCL..... though their track record doesnt equals CESC but is better then most state boards....

And yes about 5 to 10% villages still lack electricity access

Kolkata is not west Bengal ....and west Bengal is not India !

Kolkata may be having uninterrupted electricity supply but I do not like somebody to make sweeping statement that " There are nil power cuts in India " based on personal experience of few people in one metro-city .

India still has long way to go to establish adequate Energy infrastructure in the form of grids , substations , transmission lines .

We may export surplus electricity to neighboring countries ....because of various exigencies ...but it does not mean At the moment India is fully ' electrified ' and is " shining " or " lightening " whatever you may like to call it ....

I do not doubt your claim at all ....I am just saying that you can't and shouldn't extrapolate same to whole region and country !!!

.
About 70% houses in India dont have electricity
hey we are not talking about the dismal power condition of Pakistan here....your country has the reputation of being the least power consuming country in the Indian Sub-continent region as most of your households don't have access to electricity!!!

Since your name is " Truth Finder " ....I hope you will find yourself one day ....!!!

LOL I am trolling my own thread in a way ....
mate, the condition of West Bengal when it comes to power cut is much better than most of the states in India.i am not saying that we don't experience power cuts anymore,it happens occasionally here in W.B.so i concur with @Truth Finder in this matter...

Good for India, the deal will certainly help Indian CAD and support Rupees. We should encourage BD businesses and govt to import more from India in their bad times.
ohh really!!a country which has a GDP a bit larger than the Indian state of Bengal is claiming to help India getting over her current CAD.mate stop living in lalalland,it's time to wake up and smell the coffee(if you can afford some;))
