India begins electricity export to Bangladesh

India itself had the worlds largest blackout just a few months ago. The entire country of India was blacked out. Sorry but India ain't exporting anything, let alone something like electricity which 67% of Indians don't have.

LOL ....You should say 67.76 % .....that will make your 'figure' look credible .....By 'figure' I mean 'number' you quoted ....and not your figure ....or form .....which just like your 'persona' ....is 'incredibly' beyond any 'credibility' !!!

West Bengal. You can check from state govt. data.:azn:

I admire your courage .....

First ... you extrapolate West Bengal situation to whole India ....

Second you believe west Bengal data in first place !!!

Unfortunately I am bit skeptical on both accounts ....

90% of statistics are made up on the spot.

Just like this one ....LOL

Today I am in mood to humor myself ....!!!

I myself is experiencing this. No power cut here. :yay:

Yes, that was the point. A self fulfilling point. LOL.

Well in that case I would have been more liberal and would have quoted 99.99 % .... instead of 90 % !

I am enjoying trolling ....Now I can understand why people troll ....It makes them happy !!!

Ask others form Bengal then.

LOL ...I thought your 'testimonial' was good enough !!!

Y should we export when many of our own villages dont have electricity.....

You must be outsider to West Bengal ....since @Truth Finder has already proclaimed that there are no power cuts in West Bengal ...

Money.

The money gained from this export can be used to set up electricity grids in villages. The lack of electricity in remote villages is not because of lack of power generation, but lack of infrastructure to bring electricity to them.

No man...i stay in kolkata...by 'our' i meant India. yes we dont have power cuts in the city but im not really sure about the whole state. A friend of mine went to bihar ( a village) recently and i couldnt get through to him. when he came back i asked him what was wrong with his phone and he said they only had power for a few hours everyday and so he couldnt charge his phone. Im sure its not an isolated case,

Rather unconvincing argument ! ( this time I am serious )

You mean to say that India has money to fund International transmission line ....but no money to set up electricity grids in villages ?

I think it has got largely to do with Diplomacy ...

I was kidding ...

But I do not buy " No cuts " in west Bengal argument either ...

Power cuts are quite common all across India !...there may differences between Urban and rural areas ...and also seasonal factors and so on ...

But power cuts are not uncommon !

This is good. In any case, 250 mw is a small amout in our overall installed capacity.

We need to boost the production capacity and production by a large amount.

Im not really buying this... I dont think money is a factor...It cud be because India is trying to reach out to Bangladesh and project herself as a helpful neighbour.
