Nepal is landlocked, Bangladesh has the only closest port that links the entire North Eastern Indian theater. Bangladesh is strategically more important and holds many cards if it wishes to use them. Whether or not the bangladeshis want to create some military muscle, is purely up to them.

Bangladesh was actually helped in its creation by Hindutva India to avoid a 2 front war.

Anyways, I just feel for Bangladesh because they are muslims and when they are martyred by Hindutvas I feel the pain.

It is sad frankly, Bangladesh has great deal of strategic power. Nobody is telling Bangladesh to fight India. But a credible military force to deter encroachment and killing of its citizens is necessary.

Both Indonesia and India have peacefully sorted out this issue but Bangladeshis are crying for Indonesia not having those islands.... not because they have any love for Indonesia but you guys are just crying because East Pakistan and later Bangladesh did not get this strategically important Archipelago at the entrance of Malacca straits.... British made a huge mistake by giving Andaman & Nicobar islands to India in 1947. They should have kept possession of those islands like Diego Garcia. If they were unwilling to rule, could have given independence to Andaman & Nicobar Islands on a latter day as a separate country. It was not part of any Indian province in that time, so no obligation to hand over them to India. It was India's sheer luck to get them. One Indian admiral thanked the good fortune, that British administrated Andaman & Nicobar as a part of India and not as part of Burma which was more logical given the proximity.

Actually British didn't make any mistake,but it was planned I believe. It was given to India to create trouble for China in malacca straits. You can assume that westerns can easily put hostile naval blockade in this area ,so that China can be kneel down to it's knees .

British empire was the biggest colonial empire in human history, and probably they were not grass fed people.

They predicted the future and the result bis various controversial decision.
