India arms Myanmar to fight rebels

Actually, does India still have MiG-27's with serviceable airframes? That would be a small upgrade over the Q-5's we're trying to phase out. Plus I personally love the MiG-23/27 design. One of my favourite aircraft of all time.

They are at the end of their service, and will be retired by 2020, I believe we sent 6-8 of them to Sri Lanka. This will be acquisition by Myanmar and Afghanistan to have a dedicated ground attack aircraft.

But again, in case of any accidents, we will have to bear the bad publicity.

We have dedicated attack planes in the Q-5, plus K-8s which can fulfill that role along with Yak-130s which are coming and a handful of Super Galebs but the 27's performed well in Sri Lankan service against the Tamil Tigers years ago and I personally would be interested in acquiring them. Whether my airforce agrees or not is another matter. Are the Floggers you're phasing out still serviceable? Are they Indian built or Soviet built?

It was licence built in India, and if Myanmar is interested, they can sign up an overhaul agreement with HAL for a period of time. But do you think acquiring Mig-27 at this time is a smart choice? Myanmar can acquire Tejas on a soft loan agreement.

We have been neutral for long, and lost many allies. Now it's time to take sides, be it Myanmar, Afghanistan or Syria.

You don't have the right anymore to accuse others of doing the same. This has happened in the past very often.

India didn't rent military base to America CIA on the Myanmar-India border, some of Myanmar internal conflicts had been ceased long ago. cheee
