India approves acquisition of hovercraft for coastguard, army

Yes, we need at least 15-20 missile board with good air defence and 3-4 submarine hunter ships and back by support Indian navy. It will be more than fine to handle PN..
Nist our missileboats are enpugh for PN, better not compare our selves with insignificant people/nation.

But I don't think Hovercraft has any offensive or even defensive role in a situation of conflict. It's mainly used for coastal surveillance and light transportation I guess. :)
good point though I'm pretty sure Russia uses hovercraft to sealift amphibious assault units (see: zubr class) so maybe india would do the same. not sure where they would be used for this purpose though

Its very optimal for amphibious landings ,and for attacking coasts
And transportation of troops and equipment
It saw extensive use in Vietnam war ,and Falkland war could've been won easily if british forces used hovercrafts

This is a hovercraft used by russian marines, see how successful this design is?
Russia operates biggest hovercrafts in the world!

Agreed, we should arm our coast guard navy at comparable to PN...

Indian navy should focus to deal with China
Yeah, good idea .. considering your navy’s in deep shyt , from wife swapping epidemic to ships getting destroyed in harbour and subs blowing up during peacetime.

P.S; Fagatron .. PLAN has more submarines than entire armada of indian navy... that’s like comparing a diformed foetus to a grown man...

Infact ironically Chinese coast guard has bigger ships than indian navy..

If it is a surprise 0% unexpected landing. Else it won't stand a chance against even the simplest of coastal defenses. :p:

Also equip a few fishing trawlers with gattling guns, rocket launchers and 50 cals
Don’t forget doing an item number on the trawlers ...

But hey start the plan to acquire Gatling guns and you might have a few by the end of the next 2 decades ..

Of course ! Any landing force stands little chance in storming a well guarded coast!(in first wave)
Even the best landing ships have little chance
But these things are amazing!

That's true, especially the heavy Russian ones. Wonder how much fuel they might be consuming ?? :-)

You are worried about fuel?:p:
These things are very efficient
They will work well in rann of kutch, and Indian island territories

Our CG can take down PN's current vessels but they're new procurements like the 8 subs and 2 frigates purchase from China need to be dealt with the addition of missile boats and corvette class vessels
meanwhile in Indian navy ...... these veggie navy rats are dreaming of taking on PLAN

Agreed, but do care to Google "Chinese submarine 361" when you get enough time. It is worth reading. Just FYI, Indian navy has never lost as many sailors all together in all accidents since 2000 that the Chinese has lost in this single incident in 2003. LOL :sarcastic::omghaha::omghaha::omghaha:

Well that's a very big CAN sunny boy. They won't because they can't just because of the fear of repercussion. If they could they would have forcefully taken the territory they claim from India a long back. Let alone taking back they even unilaterally withdrew from the same hard won territories back in 1962 since they very well knew the fact that it was difficult rather impossible to maintaining a robust communication and reinforcement line to hold on to those territories. LOL :p:

And a small update, the above applies to us as well. We will simply won't use force against China since we also fear
repercussions just like they do. It will only be pure war of words, Twitter, Media and intermittent rather peaceful standoffs between us. :p:
