ANKARA: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that we should not think that Pakistan and India can conspire against each other, ARY News reported.
He made the statement while speaking to media on Thursday in Turkey’s capital city Ankara.
The prime minister said that Pakistan wants peaceful bilateral ties with all its neighbours including India. He added that Afghan soil should not be used for carrying out terrorist attacks in the country.
“I have stated, time and again, that India and Pakistan should co-exist as good neighbours. We don’t think that Pakistan and India should conspire against each other, nor do we cherish such a desire,” said Nawaz.
He maintained that he never resorted to anti-India rhetoric even during his election campaign.
He stated that terrorists will not succeed in their nefarious designs of sabotaging the country’s development.
PM Sharif said that the backbone of terrorists in the country was broken due to the operation against terrorism in the country.
The premier went on to say that that the war against terrorism in the country will continue till the last terrorist is eliminated.
He added that the nation’s resolve will not be deterred by the terrorist attacks in the country.
PM Sharif went on to say that the enemies of Pakistan are carrying out attacks on soft targets as they cannot tolerate the progress of the country.
He added that the decision of deploying Rangers in Punjab and initiating Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad reflects the government’s resolve in ending terrorism from the country.
The added that organizing the 13th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) in March this year is another achievement of the federal government.
He added that a peaceful Afghanistan is necessary for peace in the region.
