On topic - we Northies give far too much importance to Pakistan. Why can't we chill, forget the bomb blasts, religious innuendos and focus on bettering ourselves instead?

Thats absolutely what we should do. It may sound heartless, but our nation's destiny will not be decided by how many we kill or how many of ours die. It will be decided by how many roads, hospitals, airports, schools, businesses, police reforms, better courts we build.

Have we not seen all extremists being given a free ride? Look at the Samjohta Express terrorist and countless other hindu extremists who are never found guilty.

Not that I am surprised, since the same mindset is at play who want to errect temples as a tribute to Gandhi's murderer...

Your opinion on India's internal matter is fine, but we are talking foreign policy. If you are saying Pakistan's foreign policy is about ''avenging muslims elsewhere'' then my point stands as to who is the irrational war monger here.

To be honest , for a lot of people and community, the first thing that came to their mind when a person like Modi came to power in Delhi was chaos, war threats, existential threat, regional hegemony attempts, disintegration of state, widespread communal riots, internal and external threats to go over head etc etc from what they learned in their fables and fairy tales which was what available or made available to them.

Then they slowly , slowly , very slowly realized that the guy has proven record in administration and credible records in conduct and have accountability and trust of the majority in governance and his primary focus is preparing , developing and sustaining growth of the nation above anything and everything else.

This was very much not acceptable and the people who thought the Indian growth engine would be shattered after this Modi guy comes into power started looking for excuses.

Oh yes the primary and the most successful ploy is to brand him as some sort of killer of people or say killer or Muslims in his state. Oh yeah maybe the Indian guys would say there is nothing to prove he has ever done anything to be associated with a riot that happened on some sort of SpArK which burned like wildfire, but who cares!? fcuk those Indians but we will keep on calling names on Modi and start Modi threads and even if Indians dont start threads on Pakistani politicians we dont give a shit .. This is a Pakistani forum , hence our rights to speak whatever thats in our mind. If an Indian have a problem he should go buck himself.

Second lets assume even though there are no indications as to any aggressive posture taken by India , we would believe those silly Times of Indian articles and its authors, because they do speak our mind sometimes..
Yes India is war mongering , you need to dig the brain and go to the inner conscience of Indian politicians to see the actual game plan which only a few like us can see.

And finally, yes we would brand , tag , associate everything and anything in the name of religion only .. hence the Indian army is a Hindu army, Indian politicians are hindutva politicians, Man U is a christian football club, Chinese long-jumper is an atheist athlete etc , since we were born, raised and were asked to view the world through this wonderful prism called religion.

Exactly. We need to build our nation. Obsessing about Pakistan is a reality among many sections of North India. I get it - in Punjab and Kashmir, it is understandable. But the rest? We need to work harder. This is a very good time to work.

The specific attack on Modi is because of simple one reason,

Solution: If an Army inside a country become so powerful like a state within a state than never expect a leader like Modi.

He wanted to donate Siachen to Pakistan

He kept meeting Pakistani leaders and inviting them to India

Yep! That was spot on! We are painted as the evil Yindoo banyas, the infidels who need to be put to the sword. It's an ideological divide between an Islamic nation carved out of India for Muslims, and a secular Democratic India.

And needless to say, they paint themselves as lily white, the land of the pure that can do no wrong. Never mind if they've been indulging in a proxy war against India using their mercenaries who have been bred and supported to the hilt by the Establishment for the past three decades to 'bleed India with a thousand cuts' (Zia).

Point #2. Pakistanis always blames India (like a broken record) for the stalled foreign secretary level talks. They don't seem to realize that the Hurriyat is a non entity which Pakistan prefers to talk to but not the government of India, in spite of them being requested not to do so. They cocked a snook at us and went ahead with the talks with the lame duck Hurriyat which hardly anyone in Kashmir takes seriously. So whom do they represent? The handful of pro Pakistan elements. But the vast majority of Kashmiris don't want anything to do with Pakistan especially seeing where it stands today!

A large majority of the citizens of Pak Occupied Kashmir want out from Pakistan. I wonder what would happen if the Indian high commissioner to Pakistan starts talking to the representatives of Pak Administered Kashmir? Would Pakistan allow that? Certainly not! But they think it their right to talk to the Hurriyat! Really?

That said, if the Pakistan government is serious about solving our disputes peacefully, it must give up its habit of molly coddling the Hurriyat, stop cross border terrorism and start talking instead to the elected government of India.

But the moot question is: Does the Pak Army really want a solution to the Kashmir 'dispute'? Certainly not! They need a raison d'etre for maintaining their pre-eminance and status in society. What better way than to keep the Indo-Pak pot on the boil? And Kashmir is a convenient pretext.
